I am so proud of how both the aberdeen players gave absolutely everything in their match against Real Sociedad and also with the atmosphere created by the fans.

I don't think anyone can be in doubt about the effort put in by the players and I am very proud to have watched them give Real a real scare.

It was a great effort against a good team...

Most la liga teams would pump Scottish top league teams. Aberdeen did really well...pity they couldn't have got a wee away goal first league.

31 years ago Aberdeen beat Real Madrid to win a european trophy. Now being beaten home and away in a qualifier by the 7th best team in Spain is a matter of pride.

A perfect example of just how far scottish football has fallen in my lifetime.

There is no denying that Scottish football has been in decline for many years. What I am proud of is that after many many years of mediocraty and some totally abject and very poor performances from Aberdeen that manner of the performance was absolutely top notch. 2-0 down from the first leg we could have easily just gone into damage limitation mode especially after conceding first. However they did not do that and for 15 minutes the dream was on that the deficit would be overturned. However it was not to be and the players left absolutely everything on the pitch. At the end of the day Sociedad have a budget miles highers than that of Aberdeen.

To be clear I'm not demeaning Aberdeen here (how could I, my team were gubbed 6-1 by some Polish mob <wah>).

Merely lamenting state of scottish fitba. I'm not sure quite how, but I'm pretty certain it's all Rangers' fault <whistle>

Pity they couldn't have put the same effort in against a DUFC side who have lost two of their most influential players from last season.

    Sack McInnes!!

Was said with tongue n cheek but he has made a lot of mistakes since taking over, just doesn't seem to know how to change things when not going well. Barry Robson was a good signing at the time but it is clear that his legs are gone now and should have been hooked long before half time, appart from the experiance i think young Nikki Low is as good an option as Robson.

Goodwillie should never have been played before Rooney who has scored 6 goals pre season in Europe.

With Jonny Hayes out can't understand why he never played the new guy Monakana who seemed the perfect replacement, fast pacey winger not scared to run at defences.

Definetly need to sign a left back.

Looks like Baz could be off to manage Ross County, would be a good move for him as i think his age is starting to to tell on the pitch and we also have the perfect young replacement in Nicky Low who started the game yesterday against Partick & scored a stunning goal.
