Ralph looks very upbeat and positive in his press conference and said there are no injury concerns. It would be nice if journalists asked some decent probing questions but they never do. Anyway, at least the gaffer is positive. Could this be the weekend when things start to improve?
a point would set us up nicely for the must win game against watford... ah, wait no thats a home game. scrap that!
"It’s also good that Ryan Bertrand is back after suspension from the Leicester game. I have the whole squad now available and I can pick the eleven that fits perfect to the shape which we play and the opponent we play against." Surely the fun game of guess the left back can't be over after only a quarter of the season?
It will be a difficult match and I am not confident. To be honest, I was glad there was an international match last weekend so my enjoyment of football was not spoilt by Saints losing. I went to watch Winchester City play Slimbridge instead and it was nice to see the new signing Keith Emerson put in exactly the kind of performance in central defence that has been missing at Southampton. I have got to say that, for their level in the football league, WCFC under manager Craig Davis are playing in a fashion that is hugely impressive and demonstrative of a team playing for their manager and themselves. The contrast in watching Saints could not be greater.

So is he now blaming a lack of a full squad for our dire performances? Nothing to do with team selections, formations, player motivation, pre-game tactics, or in-game tactics/substitutions. Thats reassuring, on that basis we should finish top 4.
I'm on a bit of an emotional roller-coaster this week. I keep thinking we can win this. Then I keep thinking that we probably won’t. Beautiful sunny morning herein North London anyway, but there’s a cloud over The Emirates, which I can see from where I’m sitting. Someone’s gonna get rained on tomorrow
Yep. I think a lot of Arsenal fans are feeling a bit left out after the Pochettino sacking. Hopefully we can help them keep pace with Spurs in the sack race..
I really don't give a 'hoot' about the result this week. I want to see a positive performance, pressing, attacking and not the centre halfs hoofing it to the wingbacks.
However, we did deal with Silva, Silva, Aguero, Sterling, and later Jesus for over 70 mins against a rampant Man City
Agreed, we did defend well, but the reality was that Man City weren't exactly rampant that day. If they had been...............not going to think about that bit.
