Good riddance to him. A striker that doesn't even have a shot at goal let alone score.

Agreed. Never rated him, massive ego unjustified by his ability & never seems to care. Hope he's gone in the summer but not sure who'd take him

Perhaps we might at least now see Bothroyd on the bench. As somebody else has already pointed out elsewhere, he's scored something like 3 in 5 outings for the Rs this season, so worth a punt if fit. What do we have to lose?

Not really sure why we haven't been playing Bothroyd anyway, must surely have hbeen a better option than an unfit Zamora?

Zamora a prima donna(kebab) at Fulham, could not believe it when you guys came in for him,c/w
sick note Andy Johnson. But the rumour mill has it, that they will both be off in the summer.
    BZ to Brighton ?
    AJ to Crystal Palace ?.
That will clear about 35/40k per week off your wages bill.

should get him in for the operation now. If we win the next 3 he won't get back into the team anyway, if we don't it won't make any difference. If we get him fixed and fit chance to sell on at Christmas.

Taara to QPR: Relegation set to see Adel Taarabt and nine other first-teamers leave Hoops
    8 Apr 2013 22:30
Manager Redknapp has been told his job is safe but Julio Cesar, Loic Remy, Chris Samba, Bobby Zamora and more to go in summer clear-out

Hoop screams: QPR are heading for the Championship, Taarabt not so much
    Getty Images
Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes will order a major clear-out at Loftus Road this summer.

Fans' favourite Adel Taarabt is likely to be the biggest sale as QPR look to slash their wage bill as they prepare for life after relegation from the Premier League, with Julio Cesar and Loic Remy also in line to move on.

While manager Harry Redknapp is refusing to give up on survival until they are mathematically down, the odds are now stacked against the west Londoners pulling off a miracle after Sunday's dramatic draw with fellow strugglers Wigan.

Airline tycoon Fernandes has made it clear that he and the other wealthy members of the board will stay loyal to the club and will try to ensure they bounce straight back up from the Championship.

Fernandes wants Redknapp to remain in charge at Loftus Road and has already assured the 66-year-old that his job is safe.

But Rangers are determined to slash the sky-high wage bill in preparation for life in the Championship and will need a major fire sale to fall into line with Football League rules after gambling on big signings to try to keep the club in the top flight.

There could be as many as TEN first-team squad members set to leave QPR this summer.

The clear-out looks set to include Taarabt, who has fallen out of favour with Redknapp in recent weeks.

Turning his back on the last-minute Shaun Maloney free-kick that saw Wigan grab a point at Loftus Road and almost certainly doom QPR to the drop may have helped ensure he will make a speedy departure this summer.

Burnley, here we come! QPR's two-year stint in the top flight looks doomed
    Scott Heavey

Redknapp insisted publicly that he did not blame Taarabt, but privately was left fuming with both the Moroccan forward and Stephane Mbia, who committed the needless foul which set the stage for Maloney's gut-punch of a leveller.

Taarabt claimed in January that Barcelona, AC Milan and Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala all wanted to sign him.

A host of other clubs - including Arsenal and Manchester United - have looked at the former Spurs playmaker in the past, but it is unlikely any offer will match the £12m Paris Saint-Germain bid for him last summer.

QPR are facing the prospect of having to slash the prices to get players off the wage bill, as most of their contracts do not include relegation clauses to automatically cut their wages in the event of the drop.

But they will not leave unless they either get paid off or another club matches their existing earnings.

Form a queue: There will be no shortage of clubs interested in Loic Remy
    Clive Rose

AC Milan are interested in Brazilian keeper Cesar, and QPR could have to go out and sign a new player at that position as Cesar's back-up, England international Rob Green, is also understood to be ready to move on.

There will be no shortage of interest in Remy, who cost £7m in January, and it is understood there is a fixed buy-out price in his contract, which means he is almost certain to go.

Arsenal are likely to consider Remy, who seemed to have won Sunday's game with a sensational 84th minute strike, while Tottenham have also been admirers of the France international.

Former Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero is also set to go after just one season, while striker Djibril Cisse - who has been farmed out on loan to the Middle East - is up for grabs, too.

Bobby Zamora, sent off in the first half against Wigan, will also be on his way.

England striker Zamora has been a disaster for QPR - his November admission that he did not particularly like football is understood to have incensed Fernandes, as it emerged just weeks after he'd been handed a £60,000-a-week contract.

There will be interest in former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas while QPR turned down an offer from Zenit St Petersburg for Chris Samba just weeks after signing the big centre-half from Anzhi in a £12.5m deal in January.

Samba is on famously on £100,000-a-week at Loftus Road and such wages may be the biggest stumbling block as QPR look to launch their summer clear-out.

Counting the cost: Fernandes' buys have left QPR with a huge wage bill

But Fernandes admits that, whatever the outcome, there will be a shake-up of the squad in the close-season.

Fernandes said: "We will have to sit down with Harry and discuss who we want to keep and who would go. Obviously, there will be players that will go, regardless of if we stay up or go down.

"We want players who can give a lot to the club for a long time."

Jenas, 30, who joined from Tottenham on an 18-month contract in January, is ready to stick it out with the Rs, however.

Jenas said: "Everybody wants to be in the Premier League, but I am very happy at QPR. The club and fans have taken to me very well and we will cross that bridge if we come to it, but I would love to stay.

"Everyone at the club has accepted me, taken me after I was not in a great place in my career. QPR probably took a chance on me and it would be very harsh for me to go anywhere else."

Taarbt has had two seasons to prove he can cut it at this level and although their has been the odd glimpse of brilliance he has failed. His cowardice of not taking a ball in the hooter on Sunday has sealed his fate and so if we get a decent price for him, bearing in mind that Spurs get I believe 25% of any profit, we should cash in
Granero - came with a big reputation but the hussle and bussle of the premiership has proved too much for 'The Pirate'.
Zamora and Johnson - why we signed these aging crocks on massive wages in the first place is a complete mystery.
    Cisse - lost interest
Cesar - had a storming middle season but has looked flaky in the past few games, after being recalled by Brazil funnily enough.
Green - probably still peeved at Cesar's arrival
Remy - only ever saw us as a stepping stone to a bigger English club, Arsenal is still my bet
Mbia - runs a round a lot and falls over a lot
Holliet - hasn't produced the form expected of him but he may stay
Townsend - love to keep him but he is going back to Spurs
Samba - if a big club wants him then he will go
Jenas - probably will stay with us
    Bosignwa - good riddance

So who does that really leave....after Fabio and Townsend return to their clubs

Hil/Derry/Mackie/Murphy/Faulin???? (if not peeved we sent him out on loan)
    AJ/Betty/
    Jenas/Park/Diakite/SWP????
Onouha/Traore/ Yung/ Ferdinand (if not peeved we sent him out on loan-I hope he is!)

    Doesn't fill me with hope!

But I think you can add Hoillet, MBia and possibly Samba (a big club won't come in for him...I expect a promise of a Jan sale if things are not going well) to this list

    Who else?

It has to be Bothroyd he is the only player that can be used as a target man unless you pull Samba up front.

We don't need a target man. We did well on sunday with 10 men and no target man. Play Remy up top with Taarabt behind him.

wow, you really rate our players Devon, is there anyone that you think is OK?! Only player we have who I don't think is good enough for us in the PL or the Championship is Park, who you don't list! Forgetting about the Financial side which I don't really see any of us on here are really qualified to have much of an opinion on, unless they work with TF, all the rest of the squad and those on loan can do a job at least in the Championship.
