I think the main reason we signed Yuki was for the money and interest he would create for us and the owners in Japan. This proves it. Plus he is also a good player
Who needs Becks when we've got Yuki and Gally? You've got double the free kicks, the great passes, the advertising, as well as the glamour couple - all for just over £2m. And neither of them have knackered their metatarsal yet. (touch wood).
I should now follow with a list of products that the florist squad could sell---unfotunately i dont know any of their names ok i remembered one before he goes to swansea lee camp could sell that horrible liquid coffee you used to get and andy reid could do the before pic on weightwatchers
It'll be interesting to see how Abe is used this season. He is almost certainly our best (possibly only) commercial asset at the club and the Japanese seem to love him, which will inevitably help us and King Power in terms of advertising in other parts of Asia. Indeed I seem to recall Stringer saying that he had an army of about a dozen Japanese journalists who went to every home game just to report on how he was doing. However, the midfield is probably our strongest area, with Danns, Wellens, King and Oakley providing stiff competition. How will Top and Vichai react if their prize asset isn't playing? Will Sven come under pressure to include him? I always believe that players should be picked on their form, not anything else. But if it was a choice between a slightly better Wellens and a commercia asset Abe, who would be chosen? I also note that Abe can play at right back. Is this another option?
There were times last season when Abe was being kept out of the side by Oakley and there didn't seem much pressure for Sven to change that and bring in Abe. I doubt Top and Vichai will interfere with Sven's team selection because what they ultimately want is Premier League football and they know that Sven and the decisions that he makes will give them the best chance of getting Premier League football. I remember under Paulo when they first took over there was talk that they wanted a Thai player in the squad within two seasons and that now seems to have died down under Sven so I think they know that Sven won't mess around or tolerate that kind of thing (Man City lost their best manager in years because of it). Under a lesser manager maybe but certainly not under Sven.
Abe is the most underrated player in the squad and is used out of position, hopefully this coming season we will see the best from Yuki. When given his chance against Watford last season he showed what he is capable of and ran the show. He is no mug, had 50 caps for his country (Ranked 13 on the joke hitlist) and has had a year to get in the groove.
