In an ideal world where all your fantasies came true (stick to the topic - FOOTBALL!) who would be your top 4 and why?

Starting this off I would propose the following:-

    1. Spurs (No explanation neccessary)

    2. Everton (Because IMO they deserve it.)

    3. Swansea (Rewarding football played in the right way.)

    4. Dulwich Hamlet (My boyhood team.)

    What's yours and why?

Everton (I think they punch way above their weight every season and moyes is a great manager and like us they have lived in their neighbours shadow for way too long)

    Prem:
Spurs - I kind of like them.
Wigan - Have so much respect for Martinez to play the way he does with well.. With all due respect, tripe.
Sunderland - Had great banter with their fans outside WHL last season, the best opposition fans I've got along with.
Fulham - I love Martin Jol. Even after today.

    Out of all English teams:
Spurs - I really do kind of like them.
Stevenage - Been there for a few pre-season friendlies, nice fans.
Leyton Orient - Similar to Stevenage, plus our reserves used to play there so feel a little connection between us and them.
Exeter - I go Sidmouth every year with my family and Exeter is (I think) the local "main" side for them.

    Dream bottom 3:
Stoke - The day they **** off back to Rugby League the better.
Chelsea - Despise them for obvious reasons and seeing the Russian's money go to waste would be priceless.
Man City - Like Chelsea, would love to see their Sheikh's money wasted.

Just for the record, I wouldn't want to get rid of Arsenal, as much as I hate and despise them nor would I piss on their stadium if it were on fire, there's nothing like a NLD. And West Ham, why get rid of a guaranteed 6 pointer over a London rival?

    An interesting thread Spurf. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Way back in the far distant past., my best friend and I set-up, registered and managed a football team.
We started out with about 14/15 local lads and local mates. We were asigned to the Bath and District League, div 2..., or was it division 3., can't remember...., however we played on Saturday afternoons. Our home ground was any one of about 35 pitches in Lansdown, a suburb of the City of Bath.

We were all about 17/18 (ish) years old back then, and training was always on a Wednesday evening on that now famous semi circular flat bit of grass in front of the Royal Cresent in Bath. Most of us were living around that area at the time.

Everyone paid about 2 (two) Pounds a week in subs, for Kit cleaning and travelling to and from away games.

We were always mid table and the weekly results and league positions were published in the local Newspaper (The Bath Evening Standard) on a Thursday.

After a couple of seasons thou, I had to move back to North London, so I was forced into giving up the reigns and have subsequently, over the years, lost track of my own football club, a club I had named 'Range Rovers'............ why 'Range Rovers' I hear you cry.....Its cause I had always had a liking for Range Rovers, the vehicle.....simple.

So, Range Rovers.... (for purely selfish reasons,. if they're still in existance somewhere)

Spurs.... (to my heart and soul) (as a very young lad we lived about 7.5 mins away from the WHL pitch)

Bath City.... (Uncle Boss and Uncle Orman took me to my very first professional game there)

I have to many fantasy favourite, to name a fourth club, so I'm going to leave my list with just three. ;)

    Spurs (obviously)
Swansea, Wigan (good football, respect for managers)
Leyton Orient (was my local club when I was growing up but, oops, I thought Spurs was!)
Barnet (my local club now, so technically my son should support them although I've told him he supports Spurs)

    Sorry, I know it's five.

Bottom would be ManU, Chelski and ManCiteh. Like some others I think, the traditional rivals are not in my bottom three because we have the best derbies by far (regardless of what Sky tell you) NB - is that the plural of derby? and they don't annoy me as much as those other clubs these days (obviously my opinion changed when Chelski and ManCiteh bought their titles, and don't like ManU because the whole of English football simply bows down to them).

Look at my four logically, we'd piss the league every year. Arsenal won't challenge anytime soon as they spend nothing, and Liverpool and Swansea aint good enough but Liverpool should be in the CL, they put ours and every other team in Englands support to shame in the Champions League, their fans are fantastic and they deserve to be in there

As if by magic no 2 will be granted (although why would you want City to finish 2nd??) and possibly no 4, but unlikely.

    Spurs
Southampton (I have a couple of friends from there)
    Setubal (lived there)
Bayern (half because I lived there for a while, half because I'd like them finishing below us)

Relegation's tricky, because as much as you'd like to see, say, Arsenal and Chelsea relegated, you wouldn't really want them to be, because you'd want to play them in your dream league next year.

Thanks for the interesting thread, Spurf, and the many interesting thoughts, especially Bajan's memories.
