    I'm pretty relaxed.

The absolute worst case scenario is expulsion from the Football League. Which would make next season's Conference even more of a one horse race than the Scottish Third Division.

Trouble is NNW, it will mean digging out the steel toe-caps and stab vest for the away game <yikes>

Leo you've hit the nail on the head. The ones approving Bas stewardship are the FL, as a sole director of the holding company (you do wonder why panos and the others fell away so quickly) the issue has to be to prove whether or not the club was knowledgeable and complicit or indeed took all possible measures in its power to comply by FL regulations. You cannot be fined for something you were not aware of or could not be aware of by taking proper action and the Pozzos could take this point up to the European courts if they had to, the FL could get a not before time bloody nose if they're stupid over this one. They are not above the law!!!!

I think nearly every team who has had financial problems from a previous regime have blamed the FL and their 'fit and proper' person test. This test does very little as they don't really have the resources to look into their past.

They need to either scrap it altogether, invest more money (or charge the club for it) so they can properly investigate whether the new owner is 'fit and proper, or give laibility to the outgoing owner that if something goes wrong, they are liable for selling to dodgy new owners. Maybe they will then scrutinise the deal (and bidding parties) more closely, rather than just selling as quickly as possible!

Hope this is nothing bad about to be revealed - posted on Facebook

    Watford Observer
Unfortunately we are unable to post up the preview of tomorrow's front page - as we usually do around this time on a Thursday - because one of the items on it is embargoed

Something to do with Watford FC. <yikes>

Guess they don't want the press to reveal any verdict before its announced officially?

When i first saw that thought it might mean we had a transfer embargo...

Well if it is something about WFC, they had better get and announce it pretty soon as the paper copies will be available very early tomorrow morning.

    WO when asked if the story was about WFC replied;

"It is, but probably not in the way you are thinking".

True...does seem to be rather long winded but then its hardly a surprise given the transfer itself was almost 18 months ago...

Half surprised the nationals haven't had some sort of "exclusive" but then we aren't a big enough club.

I bet Sky are hoping its bad news so they can talk about it all game tomorrow!

Even with some points deducation I'd be confident of the play-offs but would be frustrating.

Frank Smith The embargoed story is nothing to do with Watford FC's Football League charge, or any other negative WFC story for that matter. It is nothing to worry about. It is in fact a positive story

You could be right Kev but for goodness sake anyone with ANY financial background would have had their suspicions aroused by the fact that he was associated with so many business failures and had been made bankrupt a very short time before - there was no legitimate way he could have found the millions he needed - so he had to have others putting up money - and they should have asked who that was - we now are fairly sure it was the salad brothers.

I do not understand how Simpson and co. accepted it - and I would love to know where GT stands in all of this - I would love to read an autobiography of his - rather than the spoof good and funny one in Tales from the Vicarage

I know they're passionate about their football in Nuneaton, but surely that's going a bit over the top?

I suppose it all depends on who imposed the embargo.
