Seriously, how many of you HONESTLY believe that John Terry was telling Ferdinand "Did you say I called you a black f--king ****"? Do any of you REALLY believe that?
No not in the slightest. Couldn't give the slightest **** though, was nearly a year ago. Still our leader and legend though
In my opinion, he said it in the heat of the moment in a reaction to what Scooby doo was saying to him, e.g. say you order a chinese and it's a hour late you might be thinking " f.....g chinese c...ts " . All moronic and stupid to be honest and has gone on far too long, was nearly a year ago and people need to get grip and move on from something that has nothing to do with them
Part of me says yes, part no. I just don't see why he would, he's worked with people from all ethnicities throughout his career and never had issues with race in the past so why now?
I'm not trying to wum here, I just wanted an honest opinion. @ChelseaCOE, I agree with you, I don't think Terry is a racist, he just said that in the heat of the moment, for example, as fans, we sometimes say oh you Spanish c--t or Italian c--t to an opposing player when we get mad, but we don't really have anything against Spanish or Italians, after all, some players in our own team are Spanish or Italian. I think if Terry just openly admitted to that, this would have died right there and then, but him and his advisors have dragged it out by trying to pretend he said something else. He could've just made a recorded appearance, or a letter, apologising, and saying it was done in the heat of the moment, and over and done with, the FA would've given him their ban and fine as a short term punishment, and everybody's happy.
Whether in the heat of the moment or not, it's hard to believe Terry would actually use racist language toward Ferdinand taking all the circumstances into account, unless he was very drunk at the time.
I don't know and to be honest unlike 99.9% I won't pretend I do know. As a human being I can't say I'm his biggest fan. I don't think he's as bad as people make out but he's hardly a saint either. However his commitment to his job and Chelsea FC is unquestionable. JT strikes me as someone who is a bit thick but I genuinely don't think he's a racist. And some Black Chelsea fans I know/mates with have had pictures and conversations with him many a time. Whilst the video coverage is damning I can see Terry's side of the story, having watched the tape over and over again and I myself am a very good lip-reader it seems perfectly viable he could be telling the truth. I can't/don't believe that even JT is stupid enough to make an openly racist comment when at least 50% of the people on the pitch are black, something just isn't right. But I also don't believe Anton Ferdinand has the capacity/intelligence to make up such a story. I'm sure there would be a notable change in relationship with the players, we certainly would not have won the CL or FA Cup for sure as team spirit/harmony would have been broken and the club would have got rid of him if that was the case. There are two/three realistic scenario's here: 1) Terry did racially abuse Ferdinand in the heat of the moment after Anton made provocative comments re: his personal life. Terry has defended himself as he does not want to be labelled a racist, this would lead to a possible sacking offence and many sponsorship deals gone and damaging to his self-image. 2) It's all a big misunderstanding. Terry's account of events are true and Ferdinand upon being shown the tape entirely misunderstood. 3) Rio Ferdinand and people around Anton influenced him whilst he was fragile and confused about events in attempt to get at Terry. Personally I feel all 3 are highly likely. I thought Bellamy's interview a while ago when he said "Everybody in football know's what JT is like" was quite telling. It's clear that JT doesn't have many friends in football but I never realised he had so many enemies. But what's done is done, we will never know
Most people think he did say it, but in the heat of the moment. Either way it does him no favours. On the other hand it's the FA who are universally condemned for carrying on after the Court decision. They were keen to show how big they are, but not so keen to do anything to ban slagging off of any kind. If Ferdinand had kept his foul gob shut this might never have happened. Straight red cards for any kind of abuse player to player, and absolutely straight red for abuse to refs. If refs want respect, then bloody well earn it.
Yep and you always say look at that 'overweight person' instead of 'fat bastard' too I bet You really do think you're some sort of superior ****.
D Line GREAT comments For what it's worth, I'm with you D.L. I think J.T. might not be the sharpest pencil in the box. And, To be honest I don't thinks he's a racist at all.. may, may not have said something but likes said above. It should have been dealt with months ago!
Superior to you, probably, but not superior in general. It's hardly controversial for someone's race to not be the first thing you notice. If anything the opposite is true. Classy new username by the way. Not unlike Liverpool's defence of Suarez after being found guilty too.
A very good point D/L Baring in mind that on the day 80% of the players were black and baring in mind that Chelsea's squad have long enjoyed and benefitted from having these players grace our club it would be a fool for anybody to question JT's integrity in this field baring in mind the guys not only regarded as a legend by the fans but the players too. Of course we will respect the findings of the FA and move on. I think it would be inappropriate to comment until JT has read the full transcript and has 14 days to respond. When he does the club will handle the situation internally in the appropriate fashion.
Eto'o accused him of being racist didn't he? There was also the King incident. You don't have to have a Swastika tattoo and attend the local bed sheet meetings to be a bit racist. We all say things in the middle of arguments when we're angry that we later regret and this seems like one of them. The fact that he's clearly not a cross burning racist doesn't really come into it as that's not what he's being accused of.
Not that that makes much sense but coming from someone as widely disliked even by his own I'm not too upset. **** knows why but you've had a chip on your shoulder about my posts for months.
****ing Chelsea ****s maybe? Not you maybe Watford, but I 'm sure some Rangers fans do when their curry is late!
