Last night Wilson had a great chance to pull it back to 9-8 but fluffed it .. Ronnie was all over the place and tbh I think if Wilson had won that frame last night .. today would have been so much different.. alas todays session has been a steady procession of Wilson missing and Ronnie cleaning up .. done and dusted
Disappointing final, I feel for the spectators who have passes for the last session, they might see 2 frames at most! Having said that did they have to pay, anyone know? Ronnie is just a league better than Kyron, even if he'd fully turned up I think Ronnie could just have found another gear. I just hope he shows a bit of grace with his post-match comments...
I think you're right and they probably didn't pay. Only one of the commentators said that spectators were only allowed one session each so that everyone eligible got a turn. That's a hell of a lot of friends and family! Edit: just looked it up, seems it was open to all-comers.
Not if everyone who participated in the tournament were given an allocation ? Aha, you edited your post whilst I was typing my response
Just checking, Ronnie's made about £12m from prize money alone. Nice work if you can get it..But by far the best ever. Deserves every penny. Still lives in Chigwell, Essex. Hes got another decade at the top...the caveat (if he chooses)
Just reminded me. When passing through London I have often stayed at my best man's sister's place just outside Stratford. One time about 8-10 years ago I accompanied her to a Chinese takeaway outfit which was just outside Chigwell. There was a monster photo of Ronnie on the wall, so I asked if he lived close by. They manager of the place (I assume) said yes, and mentioned quite a few celebrities were customers and mentioned Bradly Walsh ( who apparently lived in Epping, not far away, at the time) was popping in to pick up a takeway. He ended up behind us in the queue - we were next up - but he didn't attempt to use his fame to barge in front of us, which I thought was impressive. We had a brief chat with him (I'd seen him on telly in a couple of his series) - very friendly fella with no airs or graces. My brush with fame - except for Waggy, who owned a club in Hessle where my ma lived - he signed a few copies of his (auto) biography just before the last game at B.P.
My brush with fame. Prince Andrew, at Sandwich golf course. Arrogant, obnoxious piece of ****. I hope he gets found out. Others, current mayor of London. Nice guy. Mark Bright in heathrow. Stopped for a chat about city. Alan Plater, outside Roundhouse in London. Chatted about city. Nice guy. Chain smoker. Died a year or so later. Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzie. Tall and very slim. Decent fella. Neil from Young Ones. Another chain smoker! Don King in Las Vegas. I nearly got trampled on by his minders. Others. Quickly. Roy North in Fulham. Robert De Niro in nyc.
