Not going to get my hopes up as Deportivo can't afford his current wages so we either release him from his contract or agree to pay a chunk of his wages for Deportivo and hope he has a good season to get a token transfer fee.

I'd be inclined to just release him.

am i the only person who believes he never really had a chance from the very beginning. under the circumstances his transfer was a disaster from the out. a disaster that he had nothing to do with. it wasnt his fault. ive always thought that with a run of games only then would we have been able to truely see his talent or lack there of. just seems he was cursed from the start and its completely unfair the way he has been judged because of this.

He's had a range of managers deem him not good enough since he signed which I think really does highlight issues with his overall ability.

There has been talk of a 'clause' in his contract stating we'd have to pay a sum if he made over a certain amount of appearances but if so; why was he bought in the first place if we had no intention of paying that sum? You don't sign a player on a 5 year contract with the intention of not playing him.

Got an assist last season against Villa. Probably highest assist to minutes played ratio in world football last season.

All comes down to the way he performed in training really, there's no real way we can judge. If he's not good enough let him go, its a waste of his and the clubs time to do anything different. If he is, give him a chance.

His transfer was dodgy from the start and never going to work

Thing is though, all these managers have also kept Shola on the books, which is amazing given how many we've had. I think the board have probably said (since we got relegated) just dont play him, I think one more appearance activates another payment.

I do think he never had a real chance here though.
