Taking into account what happend in the 2nd half v SCFC if I was the manager v Manc Poo here´d my starting XI. Starting XI Hamer/Schmeichel** Moore Morgan De Laet Konch´sky D´water Hammond Schlupp Cambiasso Ulloa Nugent. Subs;- Vardy Wood King Mahrez Knockaert Was´sky Hamer/Schmeichel** Smith** ** = If Schmeichel is still out then Hamer to start & Smith on the bench. If he´s fit then Schmeichel in, Hamer drops to the bench & Smith dips out.
I'd be tempted to rest Nuge if I'm honest ... Mahrez was less effective yesterday because we weren't able to give him the ball ...
Without seeing Utd side today I would go with .…..................Kasper De laet....Moore .... Morgan ....Konchesky ..............Hammond Cambiasso ...Mahrez .......Drinkwater .....Vardy ........................Ulloah Subs Hamer Wassy Simpson Schlupp Knockaert King Nugent
Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Mahrez Cambiasso Hammond Drinkwater Schlupp Ulloa The team they've put out today is still beatable still IMO. Goals to be scored against them. However, it's a job for any side in the World to keep some of their forwards quiet.
The confidence they have at the minute we may need to play the following!!! ..................Kasper Hamer De laet Moore Morgan Wasy Konchesky ..........Hammond Cambiasso ....................Drinkwater .......................Ulloah The keepers can take half the goal each
Think you may be being overly pessimistic ... they still look very vulnerable defensively and if Matt Phillips had put away a guilt edged chance at 1-0 it could have been a very different game ... Armand Traore caused them loads of problems running at them with pace after he came on at half time and I think our pace will give them lots to think about ... we have lots to be confident about right now and if we can get in front I suspect their fragility may come back ...
Man U defensively are there to be had. Attacking wise once they click they might be the best team in the world but there isn't any balance to their team ATM. We have to use Cambiasso from the start else we will be over run and it will be game over if we play like we did in the first half against Stoke Ulloa, Mahrez and Vardy will have a lot of fun with their backline. Nigel will have to get the formation spot on as we can't afford to let Rooney, Di Maria and Mata float in between the midfielder and defence so we need the right numbers in there. Cambiasso's experience will be massive. But as AKCJ said Man U are still very beatable
Like this team except would swap Albrighton for Mahrez. Wont be overawed and just a bit stronger. Think we have a realistic opportunity to get amongst them next week.
Agreed. Man U look very good and QPR look very poor. We're somewhere in between, and will have home advantage too. Will be a very different game.
Mahrez might have had an off day yesterday but he's hardly been overawed so far this season, and he's certainly skinned a few full backs. Plus, Albrighton wasn't even on the bench yesterday! Was he injured?
I was joking the team has held its head up proudly so far so don't expect anything different next weekend
Can't agree there nz ... Mahrez has been excellent against Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal ... he hardly saw the ball against Stoke because we never had it in the first half ... United were vulnerable yesterday when Traore ran at them ... Mahrez far better than Albrighton in that department ... he ghosts past players ... Albrighton is very much a squad player for me ... bit of a journeyman to be fair ... Mahrez has a real touch of class ...
We did not need them to clobber QPR, its going to have 1 of 2 effects ... They will go on a brilliant run now for a few games, or they will judge us as "just another QPR" and underestimate us. While i hope its the latter, their squad is going to start delivering sooner or later, lets hope we can come out of it with some dignity.
Mahrez did have a fair bit of the ball in the first half, but it rarely made it to another player in blue after. I agree with nzfoxfan that he was out-powered and crowded out to often - but in fairness, not every side is as big and strong as Stoke, and I wouldn't necessarily drop him against United for that reason. The Stoke match was not his day - but that will come.
