Good crowd good game the difference in the two teams really was amazing four of the five goals really well worked if thats their young side it shows how good the first team must be
Yes a bit but instead of it being all over in 5 mad minutes Chelsea did take their time, the goals were really stunning & passing the ball around & just waiting for a gap. I am not a Chelsea fan when I looked at the programme four names I knew some I had heard of vaguely three came on at half time it was a totally different class even with the youngsters.
But not so long ago, in the league Cup semi final, we drew with their first team at AP and lost 4-0 in the second leg at Chelsea. Now we lose 5-0 to their youngsters. Does that show how far our standard has dropped, or am I being unfair? Were there any good signs (new signings, trialists)? Those with class will show it against higher League sides.
Sido Jombati looked very up for it second half, managed to use a few tricks to get through a few players running down the left, looks to have good control, composure and a good header on him. On first look, he looks like a great signing. Negatives last night were a lack of width, even with Wood back on the left and Paris on the right, although we were playing far superior opposition so I suppose I can't moan too much. In terms of the difference between the two sides, I think maybe we are a bit worse than we were in the League Cup, but remember this is pre-season and the squad hasn't had time to gel yet. However, I'd put most of the difference down to just how good the Chelsea youngsters are, a lot of them would easily be good/outstanding Championship players already, so I don't think we can have too many complaints. Their last goal was a perfect example of how they can create something from nothing.
I think it shows for those who don't watch premier league football you can see how teams like Burnley are going to struggle against premier league oppostion into the season we would probably give that team a better game but first team wise the gap is as big as some pundits say it is
