And just like that, the thread becomes another renaming thread... What is Steve Harper resting for exactly? Unless Mac gets injured, he doesn't have anything to do. It's not as if he's missing training to do this.
It's his day off. He's paid a very handsome wage to train, eat, drink and rest so as to be at his absolute best. Not sure how working on his days off fits in to that.
Maybe he supports Newcastle United and was going to the game on his day off. Being paid for a couple of hours will be a bonus.
Will he be sub when we play NUFC at the KC? Will he try his best for us against them? Ash was a big Birmingham fan, but he didn't do this big fan ****.
why the **** does it matter? He's commentating. Surprisingly most players don't support clubs they play at. Harper has been totally professional whilst he has been here, why wouldn't he be on the bench v Newcastle? Rooney supports Everton, should he not play against them?
There's an obvious exception, if what they do on their day off affects their ability to do their job, such as taking drugs, fighting, getting arrested, getting injured while pissed etc.
Surely this is good for the club anyway? Current Hull city players giving their views on important matches! I know it's because he's a toon lad but still, any publicity is good publicity!
I'm off to Morrisons soon if i see Hudd or Chezzy etc in there walking about I'll bundle them into a trolley and get my daughter to push em about. Save their legs. ****ing footballers need mollycoddling. Be a bit of a tight squeeze for Hudd like...
I don't think anyone's going to think "Steve Harper's commentating, I'm going to buy a Hull City season ticket".
I think it demeans our club if we have our players whose heart is elsewhere at a rival. It stinks of 'small time club'.
If Steve Harper has to face a pen against Newcastle, will he let it in? All that fuss about players not celebrating when they score against their old club, let alone the one they support. He seems uncommonly attached (still) to a rival club. Not healthy IMO. Sorry if this seems like I'm repeating myself, but there are some thick ****s on this thread.
Well no, but i'm sure they'll announce him as 'Steve Harper, Hull City Goalkeeper' or something. Just seems nice that we have players who are valued in the media who aren't Jimmy ****ing Bullard. And i don't see how liking a club you support and who supported you for umpteen years is demeaning at all. And it won't affect his job in the slightest, i'm sure he's a complete professional. Still, as long as he doesn't do the 'no celebration' **** that seems to be catching on.
