Pirelli have said they are bringing the soft and super-soft tyres to Montreal! Have they seen the race? Last year on the more durable Bridgestones they were falling apart, so what is going to happen to the less durable Pirelli tyres? Not just that but the softest Pirelli tyres in the range. How many tyres stops will there be? Will they run out of tyres?
I am getting tired of everything being about the tyres, yes it is making it more exciting, but there is too much emphasis on one element. Kers and DRS would have been enough with similar tyres to last year. (IMHO)
I'm liking all the tyre changes, but I think today was enough. A mix of 3 and 4 stops is plenty in my opinion.
5 seems excessive, thats 100+ stops in the race. Super softs to last maybe 5 laps? Also, i thought there had to be a gap between the compounds? The soft and super soft don't have that, wouldn't it have to be the medium and super soft?
5 pit stops will be.....interesting......but lets just hope they haven't resurfaced the track to get rid of the degredation there, it'll spoil our fun!
Good point about the gap between compounds, but I have checked and Pirelli have said that in Canada, the soft and the super-soft tyres will be used as prime and option choices respectively.
Yeh, I've seen a lot of sources saying the same thing, just seems really odd the gap isn't there, or am I missing a compound. I thought we just had hard, medium, soft and super soft?
