Not, no and never!! However if it was Bellamy or Keane - Yes! Similar age, yet they still appear to have the desire and hunger to compete, but MO just says it and believes he should just be snapped up by a Prem team.

Exactly. He'll be like a house end by now. I just have a picture of him in his garden beer in hand with a massive barby on the go. All day, every day.

I wonder if we'd all feel the same if we bothered to read his brochure. Supposedly it tells you how great he is, and how he is not at all injury prone.....................

He should release a totally serious non hilarious video of himself training really hard. Worked out well for Owen Hargreaves.

I wonder if his 'I'll never play in the Championship' pout still stands now Forest are loaded?

"£90kpw? No thank you, I'd rather play on a £10kpw pay as you play deal with Wigan!"

    ...I think not.

The Smug little rat should never set foot in St James's again.. as a player or benchwarmer. If he does ill set Tiote on him and failing that (and if we get him) ill set douglas on him!

I would rather we got Kuqi out of retirement and have him a contract, a player who, unlike Owen, obviously cherished being with us and gave his all in every training session and what little game time he had.

Michael Owen is a ****ing ****, wouldn't care if he died.

Michael Owen and Shefki Kuqi, two strikers past their best and without pace. Ignore peak ability at this point, yes Owen is the superior striker technically.

Michael Owen joined Newcastle and performed reasonably well. His workrate was questionable at times and the length of time spent out with relatively minor injuries was suspicious. He showed no passion for the club and upon leaving acted like he'd been raped in prison. Never spoke favourably about the club and didn't communicate with the fans other than to say, "stop booing me, it's not my fault I don't like playing!" In interview even admitted he'd rather sit on the bench of a 'big club' than play regularly for a 'small club'. Attached himself to the glory of Man Utd without contributing all that much and still maintains he is a top class striker despite averaging under 7 goals a season (in all competitions) since 2005.

Shefki Kuqi, from a more modest footballing background joined Newcastle and though he accepted his role as backup, kept himself supremely fit. He regularly spoke to the fans through the media praising them and the club, gave genuinely interesting interviews and was liked by all at the club. When leaving the club he went out of his way to again, say what a wonderful club we are and despite never scoring left with so much respect. He could easily have joined another club as backup but instead joined Oldham and went on to score 16 goals in 41 appearances. I don't care if it's a lower level, 41 games involves the same amount of running no matter the league.

The key difference between these two is a love for the game. One has it, one doesn't. Since leaving Newcastle, Kuqi has made as many league appearances as Owen. He clearly wants to play the game, Owen is happy to ride on the coat tails of the Man Utd first team.

If Michael Owen had any sort of ambition after leaving us he would have seeked a club such as Everton, played regular football and won back his place in the England squad. If he had the same heart and head as Kuqi I seriously think he'd be considered one of the greatest strikers of all time. As it stands, he's that wonderkid who went sour.

Hand on heart I genuinely value the contributions to NUFC of Sibierski above those of Owen.

I would only sign Owen if it was because we wanted to string him up and use him as one of those punch bags the lads train with.

Or maybe he could be used by Tiote & Bigi to help with their tackling ptactice. Not that they need the practice, but still a very worthwhile investment. I'd pay for a ticket to watch.

Put him in a toreador costume and put him in a ring with a bull (without the sword). I think I'd pay to see that.

Or dress him as a cow and put him in a ring with a bull - now that would be funny.

Only if we bring back Luque out of retirement and play him in a three man strike partnership with Xisco. If not then no.
