Have beat Chelsea in the league and lost this one?

For me (and I know it's unlikely we will win the cup) I'd rather we won tonight.

    ****ing Gerrin!

We were always more likely to beat Chelsea in the cup than the league .......... as long as we beat Norwich I'll be quite happy.

Could this be the turning point we so desperately need? I wasn't there so can't really comment but it must have been some performance to beat Chelsea after going 0-1 down to an OG as well FFS.

The reports I read were full of praise for the back 4 as well as Ki, Catts, Giacc, Borini and even Larsson got a special mention.

Maybe this win will instil some belief into the players? I hope so, bring on Norwich and a much needed home win.

I like what Poyet said after the match about beating Man City & now Chelsea at home, it's 2 impressive scalps & it should bode well atr least for Saturday against Norwich!

Mentality is huge in football. Norwich will fancy it that little bit less now i think.

Everyone on twitter (current players, former pros) were talking about the spirit. We have some good players and abit of spirit and belief could work wonders against Norwich. If we win the teams around us will get very nervous.

If only you could pick and choose!

I'd probably prefer to win the cup and be relegated than to just scrape by in the Premiership but not win anything for another 40 years, BUT only if we would get promoted again the next season. However, you can't choose these things (at least not without a massive Asian betting syndicate behind you). There's a number of teams who have faded away once they've been relegated and I don't think a cup would make up for that.

There's some interesting stats here on what usually happens to relegated teams: http://eplindex.com/31388/relegated-premier-league-what-happens-next-stats-analysis.html. Looking at that, we should go all out for league survival.

You can't pick and choose defeats and victories but you can determine the future.

Whatever results or not we have had so far, we simply have to win on Saturday. If we do then the Chelsea league defeat is forgotten and a great cup win is celebrated. Failure to win or god forbid a defeat against Norwich and nothing we have achieved last night is of value.

Come on Sunderland, beat the canaries and let us finish the year on a high.

Yes but... Hypothetically speaking - if you were blindfolded and told that a beatiful woman was giving you a blow job, but then unblindfolded half way through and you found out is was a bloke - would you let him finish?
