we had gotten to 3 points by way of 1 win and 2 losses or as we have with 3 draws. Fairly irrelevant post but whilst I would love to have won one of our league games so far but happy with 3 draws against tricky opposition. At least we are (hopefully) becoming difficult to beat!
We are unbeaten and if we can also not lose at W Ham and beat Wigan, then played 5 games with 4 draws and a win and 7 points starts to look canny imo (especially as 3 of those games were away). We still have to get our best side out yet this season but Bardsley and Brown will soon be back; AJ will make a huge difference when he is fit which will change our game plan imo; Sess needs to get his finger out and McClean hasnt started a game yet in the EPL worth talking about. If we can remain unbeaten for the first 5 or 6 games and start to play well, then this will add to the confidence.
Would of rather been beaten of Arsenal and Swansea, won against Morecambe and Liverpool, then the belief of winning games would at least return
obviously we all want a win as soon as possible, but we have picked up three draws against three good teams, two of those away and one against an improving liverpool side with a point to prove at home - three good points imo.
I'd rather we'd won 1. Winning is a habit, and we haven't won in 11, we need a win. I do think we'll turn West Ham over though, and then the start looks excellent.
I do think we would've beaten Reading if the game had gone ahead (easy to say that, I know), so we could have been sat with 6 points from 4 games which would have been a very healthy return from some tricky fixtures in my opinion.
Take the 3 draws, me. Arsenal and Swansea away were good ones to get shot of and we still have Reading at home tucked away for the future. The Liverpool result was a tad disappointing, but they were up for the whole Hillsborough thing and we were a bit lucky to get the point. Still 35 to go, so I'm OK with how things have gone.
Absolutely right - If we'd beaten Arsenal and lost to Swansea and Liverpool then we'd be in the losing habit - Even Derby won a game in their 11 point season - anyone remember who against?? - that didn't become a habit. Happy with 3 very creditable draws so far in the league - by the end of October we'd have played 3 home games (Yes 3 in the first 3 months!!) from a total of 8 league games - if we have picked up about 12-14 points by this time I'll be quite happy. I detest West Ham but am frequently reminded by my Dad of the 8-0 drubbing they gave us down there (he was there and singing his heart out all the way through) - We should be looking for 3 points this weekend - Andy Carroll was the difference for them last weekend but he's injured - hope Cattermole wins the ball with a hard tackle and "accidentally" gives Kevin nolan a good kicking!!!!
Nolan is a ****ing WUM for certain. Hope Bardsley is playing & knacks the chicken wing twat, <outoftheviewoftherefsmiley>
Aye, ****ing class! One of my best mates is a West Ham fan but that will be put to one side on Saturday for 90 minutes. I'm not expecting an easy ride by any means mind, they've had a good start.
Talking about the Reading game why is it not re arranged for next month?, only 1 home game in October.
It's great to be unbeaten, but that's 2 games we had the lead (Swansea we had the lead twice) & we've come away with a draw, the way we played against Liverpool has me a bit concerned, but like a lot of people say, it's only 3 games.
Point being though that we have taken the lead in both our score games and not been able to defend it.
