Yennaris at right back instead of Jenkinson? I'd CONSIDER it at least. He's only young but god he had a shoddy game at Anfield and I'm not judging him on one game, but he always seems like a week-link on paper to me unfortunately. We deffinately need a RB for when Sagna is out.
I think he had a great game at Anfield personally other from a shaky start and his defending was great. He's also been named in the sky sports team of the week. I think he has great potential and yennaris should prove a worthy competitor for a starting berth.
I can't help but focus on the 4/5 nervy passes they lost us possession and could of caused us to concede - and hes done it before - maybe lack of confidence in big games? I dunno. I still think that neither option are good enough YET.
his passing is suspect. apart from that, he had a great game. so i don't think you can call it "shoddy" in any way.
I would tend to agree With the confiedence issue. I think he tends to suffer from stage fright of big games causing him to lose focus meaning he has to grow into games. In the long run however I expect ONE of him or yennaris to make it at right back as I find it hard to believe both can make it as not only may we purchase a new rb but angha and hector bellerin are proving to be quite adept albeit at reserve level.
What are you on about ? He had a really solid game at Anfield. He made a couple of passes that he shouldn't have in the first half, but I bet Bouldy had a word with him at HT about it, because in the second half he didn't put a foot wrong. Did you actually watch the game ?
Yes I watched the game - I just have a slightly different opinion to you mate. I didnt say hes awful, i said he worries me, and your right, he had a better second half but I maintain im not convinced - but as i said - YET. So keep your pants on please
In all honesty - can you really say AT THIS MOMENT your 100% convinced and happy with him as a solid RB if we want to compete for the title or champs league? Thats what it comes down to
He's improving, and he'll only improve by playing games. While Sagna is out he's the best option. Any RB would struggle against Sterling - the guy is a tricky winger. Jenko handled him very well, and after a clean sheet he definitely deserves to keep his place.
Jenkinson is OK. Bearing in mind his age and experience he is doing well. And he is getting better all the time. We are not competing for the title, so forget about it. As for CL - I am perfectly happy for him to play against Shalke, Montpellier or Olympiacos. And Sagna will be back in a month anyway so I do not see any problem here whatsoever.
Fair enough - I might be wrong, but he's only ever played RB for us right? as we needed cover - don't remember him filling in at RM even in Carling Cup? Would explain why he scored in the Next Gen game though!
Senior team he has only played RB, he always plays CM for NextGen, he is actually normally one of our best players, him and conor Henderson have a great understanding.
While it was only one game - a pre-season one at that - I felt Yennaris was beaten too often at right back vs. Koln. Jenkinson on the other hand came out on top vs. Liverpool's liveliest player on Sunday.
Next game is Olmypicios ... why do we always draw them! they are in our champions league group too ffs lol
