While for most of us football is considered one of the best sport, what do you feel are the worst spectator sports?

Also how would you improve that sport to make it more enjoyable for the spectator?

Personally I can't stand 'sports' such as archery and pistol shooting that are on TV during the Olympics. You just watch people stand there for what seems like hours, shooting a stationary piece of paper!

I feel these sports could definitely be improved by maybe introducing a drive by shooting tournament. Taking sport to the streets, with targets being some of the chavs that sadly roam our streets (and crashed into my parked car yesterday!!!!). Archery should also be done on horse back

Ice Hockey. Nobody knows when there's a score until the team that scores puts their arms up in the air. And who would have a punch up with someone wearing a helmet and looking like the Michelin man. You could improve it by using enriched uranium pucks.

Baseball. Seen it live. Exciting in moments but takes way too long.

I've never understood why archery is considered a sport - an Olympic one no less!! - whilst darts isn't, and is always scoffed at when anybody suggests that it is.

I'd personally say there's more skill involved in darts than archery where they use whacking great bows with all sorts of fancy stuff on it - plus a night out at the darts is infinitely more watchable than archery would ever be.

That said I'll probably watch it during the Olympics if we've got anyone involved, I can watch any sport me and I'm actually struggling a bit to think of one I can't stand. Not a huge fan of Rugby League so maybe I'll chuck that in as my least favourite <ok>

    I HATE BOWLS!!!!!

The only thing that could make that "sport" better is if the umpires or judges or whatever they're called put a few explosives in a few of the bowls and set them off at various stages throughout the game.

    I REALLY HATE BOWLS!!!!

Yeah I went to a Mets game when I was in NY a few years back - funny old sport that is! Everyone in the crowd was more interested in eating and didn't seem to care about the match. There were guys waking around selling food the whole game, it was bizarre. It actually went to overtime although around 80% of the 'fans' had left by that point and the stadium was almost empty.

If eating was an Olympic sport the yanks would clean up every time <ok>

Syncronised swimming! wtf is that all about?

How to improve it, well a number of ways.

    1. Have a team of 4-6 people on the side of the pool throwing spears or other sharp or heavyish objects at them - good for testing reflexes.
    2. Have all the ladies naked - with under water cameras of course
    3. Simply ban it!

Same happened in the game I went to, but the team was being thrashed so I can understand why the people left.

They swap the pitcher every couple of games, even though they play about 5 times a week. If a pitcher needs a break from standing there and throwing a ball then something must be wrong. Why don't the 'players' who run around get a break?

F1 - who has the best car wins. Yawn.
Virtaully any Olympic sport - there is a reason we only see these sports every four years.
Three Day Eventing - ponces on ponies
Ice skating/dancing - do i need to elaborate?
Any form of "extreme" martial art such as cage fighting - not big or clever and boxing is far better
Tennis other than the grand slams
Golf other than the majors and the Ryder Cup
Badminton - as far as I can tell it is played exclusively by people who are crap at any other sport

Currently it has to be "Heavyweight Boxing".
Brainless, ignorant, fat, talentless thugs, in stupid shorts.
How do you qualify to join this group: Well, having been brought up on the "streets", having a father who either beat you and your mother up or raped you, get expelled from school, be 6 foot plus, weigh about 18 stone, pretend to be a "rapper", and use your stock phrase continually...Boxing saved me from Prison! Says it all really.
    Heavyweight boxing is a disgrace!
How to improve it? Put all of them in a ring at the same time, the last one standing is the winner, who is then taken outside and shot! Yeah that'll do it.

Will you lot stop picking on my missus!
She has a horse, used to play softball (different rules but basically the same as Baseball), she's got a 2.7L performance car, has a set of Henselite bowls and like me loves to run marathons. You're off the hook Sid as I don't think she's ever tried Archery, she only knows Bow and Arrow as suburbs of London!

I would also like to add weightlifting to the list. Can't stand it as a sport and not the most pleasant watch it is fair to say.

I'm with Norfolkbhoy on F1. Had the misfortune to be invited to the Bahrain GP whilst working in the Middle East. Watching a car going past your seat at high speed yawn. Might be better on the telly but never worked up the interest to watch.

One of the joys of the olympics is getting yourself really wrapped up in the stories of ordinary people and their quests for olympic glory.

The sight of the US NBA team strutting about winning 106-53 seems to be incongrous with such an event and leaves me cold.

Agree with this don't like seeing multi-million pond a year players in the Olympics. Should be amateurs or people who do it as a regular day job with average to low pay.
