Yeah saw this today early on. Fantastic. **** these little fairies feigning injury, lets just chuck the ****ers off the pitch.

 

Not sure why you have classed this as off topic? Surely we have them lined up to join our wonderful medical team?!

I saw an article about Batty that said he was never that interested in football, he only played because his father was a fanatical football fan, once his career ended he appears to have walked away completely from the game, he has a twitter account but it went dormant in 2011, not a lot else about him after his playing days, we could do with his younger clone in midfield it would make a hell of a difference.

 

I think the "man who didn't like football" is a bit over exaggerated. Its a bit misleading on the few quotes I've seen from him. He did actually enjoy playing football, he just wasn't into it fanatically, i.e. he didn't and still doesn't watch much football. He says he still keeps an eye out for Leeds results etc, but has pretty much not got the love of the game some have with watching it non stop. The one thing he was not arsed about was all the media attention and so on. They do say that post match he'd literally get himself changed, say bye to the lads and head home to his family.

A massively underrated football. Technically he was superb. I often wondered if we'd just picked a midfield diamond of him, Gerrard, Scholes, Beckham how good that team could have been. Technique wise all four were some of the best we ever produced.

 

Batty was underrated. An unsung hero in our side. Shearer, Ferdinand, Lee, Ginola etc got the plaudits whilst Batty just got on with it. A fantastic player in his day. A decent bloke off the pitch as well by all accounts.
