I was just wondering if anyone has seen any players at the worl cup who they think May be a bargain or worth buying, obviously let's try and keep it realistic and in positions we need would be good

A few Ghanaians caught my eye

Harrison Afful - right back - Ghana - Sporting Tunis (Tunisia)

Wakaso Mubarak - centre mid - Ghana - Rubin Kuzan

Peralta - forward - Mexico - club santos Laguna (Mexico)

There's a lad playing for Costa Rica that looks handy, think his name is Ruiz or something? Looks perfectly suited to the English game.

Fulham Ireland my thoughts on Ruiz are well known on here, I rate him highly, technically brilliant and had we played him as a number 10 which is his position he would have been good. Jol was quoted once as saying " I wanted Benteke and Berbatov but could only afford one so I went for Berbatov and Benteke went to Villa "
This was a crime Bemteke up front with Ruiz behind him would have been brilliant , but Berbatov as good as he was meant playing our 10 million pound signing out of position.

Let's not turn this into a Ruiz debate we have all had our say on it

I know, my comments were very tongue-in-cheek as Ruiz looks like a different player for Costa Rica.

Back to the original point of the thread then I would suggest Guillermo Ochoa of Mexico who we've been linked to on numerous occasions. He is a free agent but I suspect there will be bigger clubs looking at him.

Where does Ochea play??? I honestly don't think we need to much with youngsters to cone in and the signings of Hutchinson, Taggert and hopefully Davidson I reckon three more signings should do it but I would stress they probably need to be good established players and not potential

A right back, Centre back and forward

He's a goalkeeper. I know it's not a huge problem for us but Ochoa is much better than Stockdale in my book. He was huge against Brazil. As I say though he'd be out of our range.

As far as a right back goes we could do a lot worse than Santiago Arias from Colombia. He plays for PSV, he's 22 and looks a good prospect.

    Where does Ochoa play???

He played in goal for AC Ajaccio in the French league, but is a free agent, they got relegated this year, he played 37 games and only kept 2 clean sheets, letting in 71 goals.
I've seen him play really well against clubs like PSG and Lyon, but he's a good shot stopper, but not consistent. I suspect he has already been signed by someone after his performances in Brazil. I think it was rumored that a Spanish club had almost signed him.
If he ever gets fully fit again Stekelenberg is a better all round keeper.
