High quality referees are required to replace the incompetent referees and linesmen (yes linesmen!!) at the World Cup in Brazil.

All applicants must fufill the Requirements for Qualification

Must be able to run 100 metres in 60 seconds flat, then blow a blast on a whistle for at least one second that can be heard at 300 yards distance.
Read a standard car number plate at 3 metres.
Have a minimum of Grade U in GCE mathematics. Under certain circumstances Grade F in Domestic Science will be accepted as an alternative.
Must have played football in a team at least once. No minimum standard of playing level is required.
Must have attended at least twenty professional football matches and paid particular attention to the comments made by the home crowd regarding the match referees performance.
Must be fully confident to manage a match between 22 players in front of a biased crowd of 100 thousand spectators.

All applicants will be paid £10 per hour as match fees.

All flights, living expenses and accommodation to be paid for the applicant.

If you are arrogant enough to apply please do so!!!

If others can offer further requirements for potential applicants, please supply suggestions for our edification and amusement.

As Corluka said in the paper today "We should give Brazil the world cup now so we can go home" Can't see them being beat when the team playing them have to play 11 men plus officials. It's bad enough the ref and linesmen are of very poor standard but they are easily intimidated.
