Ferdinand stresses QPR must be patient Football Posted at13:27 Rex Features Queens Park Rangers must be patient as they seek a return to the Premier League, according director of football Les Ferdinand. The R's, relegated from the top flight in 2015, are 13th in the Championship, four points off the play-off places. "We know what we are trying to achieve and where we are trying to go," Ferdinand, 49, told BBC Radio London. "We are in a society where everybody wants everything overnight. Sometimes that doesn't happen."
Think it was more TF with his tweet about promotion, although LF turned the thumb screws a tad on Ramsey...... Maybe LF has had a word in TF's ear about raising expectations........
I heard him in a short interview on Talksport the other day, he was saying we could do better but were only four points off the play-offs and a short winning run could propel us into the play-off positions which were our target. Talk of raising expectations are now treated with a pinch of salt by most, we've heard so much bullsh*t over the past five years but we see with our own eyes what's going on on the pitch and my expectations are distinctly low at present...
What is the point of this team reaching the play offs and potentially the Premier league, nowhere near good enough to survive. Not quite sure what the board's current strategy is.
The aim must be to finish as high as we possibly can - what else could it be? Would you turn down promotion via the play-offs on the grounds that we weren't good enough?
But was it actually said before the radio show that Sooper heard that we are aiming for the play offs? And if so how did I miss it?
Of course I want my team to do as well as possible, but what would the transfer policy be if we did find ourselves promoted? This squad is not anywhere near being Premier league quality. I'm fairly certain most of us wouldn't want a repeat of the debacle we suffered in the last campaign.
That has to be the target for any Club always. The mega revenue increase in the PL certainly doesn't detract from this! No point in worrying overly about survival in the PL, till you get there, but many Clubs of or roughly our size and financial backing manage it.
JFH in the premier league? There's no way he could keep up with almost all the other managers in the league. We'd definitely need a new manager if we got up, let alone several quality signings.
