Appeasement - Kidnapped ** ** A seminal novel for me .Alan Breck was my early hero, Treasure Island in a grey early 1950's made me dream of coral seas and silver beaches...so I enlisted in the Royal Navy and saw them. Many years later, I had a pint int The Hawes Inn (South Queensferry) , where young Davy was 'Kidnapped'....on first floor was RL Stevenson's room, I sat in HIS chair and sat in his chair, at his desk dipped my pen in his inkwell, where he wrote those wonderful, and shed a tear!!!
