This season we have not scored 3 goals or more at all in any league game.

Last season we managed it just 5 times, 3 times at home and 2 times away.

The season before only 4 times, 1 at home and 3 times away.

So in 118 games and counting we have scored 3 goals or more a grand total of 9 times.

But if you don't create many real chances, and we don't, then you won't score many goals. When we can barely muster a single shot on target during a home game, there is something fundamentally and critically wrong with the squad and the management.
In a way it's a shame there are no crowds at the moment as supporters would be giving it to Holden with both barrels in most home games.

Im hoping the goal for Nakhi will give him that shot of confidence he badly needs. Call me cynical, but the window slams shut, and we get that performance from Fammy.....

Agree about Nakhi, he seems so low in confidence, a confident Nakhi firing on all cylinders would greatly help our chances, though to achieve that he has to have better service and play in his natural role.

Nearly 4 years and counting, exactly what have LJ, Holden, Ashton and a host of coaches been watching that is different to the fanbase? if this was a slight blip I could understand but this is 4 years in the making, same old turgid slow predictable build up and no chances created, barely a shot on target and barely a chance created and then we are spoon fed utter nonsense about the quality that we have in the squad.

Even Harry Kane needs supply, supply that is tailored to his game, we have never once achieved that since we signed Wells, as I said in an earlier post what can loosely be described as our 'midfield' have 4 assists all season, Martin has more than that on his own and Semenyo has the same amount.

2 games like that for Diedhiou.

He needs service and the right type of service, he has zero service, he has been with us for 12 months and we have morphed him from a top striker to a less than bang average striker.

How do players get motivated when they hear they are heading to Bristol City who have a lousy history of taking good players and destroying their confidence with lousy management and even worse coaching? All of our ex-players doing well at a higher level must be thanking their individual lucky stars that City took the money and ran without a thought of long term team improvement. Surely if you truly wanted to build a better longer term place wouldn't you ask questions as to why the building keeps losing key building blocks and when the surveyor says that actually it's the foundation that stinks why on earth would you ignore advice from those who know better? Tilting at windmills comes to mind.

    Negative lot ain’t we?
We went into this season saying the midfield is to be built round Williams and possibly Walsh (not to sure on him at the moment). However from the games I’ve seen Williams play he seems like the one we’ve been calling out for. But as we know he’s been injured. So for all we know Holden may have saw the weakness. We’ve also now taken a punt on a player 3/4 years ago we could dream of getting to our club.
So why don’t we judge Holden on solving that issue when they return, rather than at the moment using an academy player plus a converted defender.
There are plenty of other things he can be blamed for along with Ashton as in LB position. Holden can be blamed for chucking 4 attackers in chasing games.
But for ****sake why don’t we cheer up and make this board a better viewing for anyone looking to join.

I agree about Holden and injuries etc. but the failure to bring in a left back in the window, just about sums the club up as a whole, the attitude is lets see if we can muddle through, make do with what we have, I also cannot get enthused about reliance on failing players who manage 1 good game in 6, we have far too many of those Hunt, Rowe, Paterson, ODowda, Diedhiou etc.

My hope is that this summer we will have a cull and find some proper talent ala Brentford and not the usual dross that we tend to sign.

I want to cheer up but it's difficult, I want to enjoy watching my team play well again, even when we win I struggle to say wow I enjoyed that at the moment.

I am a realist but things at the club need to change.

I don't even consider them a rival anymore, I look at loads of other results before I even care about looking for their's.

I fully accept that we are still in the mix as things stand, I haven't missed watching a game all season and I can honestly say only the Stoke game enthused me and even that was tainted by somebody on here telling me that Stoke were **** and we should be beating them easily.

I just want to start enjoying watching my team put in a good performance for 90 minutes, with some goalmouth action and maybe even more than 3 goals for a change, I am fed up with the turgid mess we are fed at present and then listen to BS about our quality, it will be interesting to see what if any difference Williams, Sessegnon, DaSilva, Walsh and Lansbury offer us, I am sorry but I cannot get myself excited about the return of Paterson or Odowda or about hearing about Diedhiou signing a new contract, only Paterson has ever come close to being consistent for us and that ended early in 2018, we need better quality than we have, transfer wise we have seriously taken our eye off of the ball.

The big question should be why are Brentford so far ahead of us in football terms?, why can they scout and sign the talent they have throughout their squad? and play such attractive football to boot? whilst having a lower wage bill and a lower budget?
