Just seen this on Newsnow/newcastle feed.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...5-players-they-should-sign-with-carrolls-35m?

"I would bet that instead of a useful signing up front and another body in defence, both of which are badly needed, Newcastle will reach September selling Jose Enrique and Joey Barton without even bothering to find suitable replacements. Once again, they will be forced to rely on a free transfer signing once the transfer window is closed, because that worked so well last time with Shefki Kuqi..."
The author is one Adam Ball, pictured sitting on some grass wearing a Newcastle shirt, so he must be a big fan!

Reading the last line, is this some WUM or worse some scum masquerading as a Toon fan?

I'm just sick of people being negative. Like it or not AC departure helping us re-shape the team to play a more attractive style of football.

Anyway, here's 5 things Adam Ball should do with his fee.

    1. Get a girlfriend as the wan*ing clearly affecting his judgement.
    2. Book himself into hospital to have that lobotomy sorted.
    3. Buy a think positive book because we've Ashley for the long haul.
    4. Post this crap on the SAFC not606
    5. Befriend "sidthe mackem".

I think he is sounding a little bitter. Ashley/Pardew etc are to blame for the bitterness because of the false promises made re: 35m. However he is achieving little with his negative outlook, even though it is possible that he might not be far wide of the mark in terms of how the rest of the window will go. And was he really naive enough to be taken by the promises made? It was blatantly a fire dampening exercise as they feared the backlash from fans over Carrolls sale with no replacement (sorry Shefki I just don' think you even count) We all knew that 35m would disappear. I think we need to stop talking about it to be honest. The fans should just forget about figures and money altogether and concentrate on giving whichever 11 is on the pitch our full support. As long as there are 11 lads out putting the graft in, I'll be happy.

What a knobhead. Whinge moan, we haven't spent £35M!!! Well the players he's listed aren't that great and could cost up to £60M if you tally up his somewhat dubious pricing of those players. So certainly not going to get them.<doh>

I can see where he is coming from. All this 'stop being negative' and 'judge on 1st September' comments are from people clinging to hope that Ashley has suddenly figured out how to run a football club and that we have a chance of real progress. As my Dad always says: a tiger never changes its spots (he's a bit mental.)

I think he has a point but is it worth whining about? I fully expect that come the close of the window, we'll probably all feel a little disappointed. Either we'll sell someone we don't want to (Tiote), see Barton go, see Enrique go without a replacement, don't sign the blatantly needed striker or some other bizarre dealing. I just don't see the point in being negative and whining about something we can't change. He has full control of our club and he'll do as he pleases. We might aswell just focus on supporting the 11 on the pitch. These type of articles constantly focusing on this 35m he was always going to not spend, just seem designed to keep the negativity simmering.

Who Barrios? I fecking wish. I mentioned him a few days ago but I'd be very surprised if a lad playing champions league football this year would leave for a club who aren't even in Europe. Yohan Cabaye did I suppose! I really like Barrios though, fits the bill perfectly and when you look at his record, it has natural goalscorer written all over it.
