Willian is quality, but where the hell do they all fit in? Surely we have bigger priorities? Maybe a C.B and a striker would have been more pressing??
While the Attacking options in midfield are many and indeed IMO the envy of the league: De Bruyne Oscar Hazard Mata Ramires (gets his fair share of goals) Lampard (who despite getting on will still play a role under Jose) van Ginkel Chelsea would be crazy to allow IMO the best Attacking midfielder from last season to leave to a rival. Mad.
I agree. Now that I think about it, its becoming more and more likely that we will get a striker from elsewhere (Eto'o maybe) and you guys will be left with a Sulky Rooney.
I suppose I was considering them more forwards but you're right. What is Jose up to? He is most surely going to upset a few players.
this is such a strange one, i don't get it. Its a right well aimed kick by a Mourinho boot to our rather delicate testicles though. Would Chelsea do this just to put us down? I just don't see him being as good as the fantastic options you already have in that position. Mata > Willian, you'd be mad to let him go. If we keep Bale because of it then it could turn out to be a favour, but the more likely outcome is that Bale will leave and we'll end up short a creative player. Personally i don't see us as a threat to you currently, hence my baffledness.
I don't think recruiting policy is entirely up to Jose. My guess is his reconciliation with Roman is partly his acceptance that as far as transfers go he gets to ask who he wants or the type of player he wants and the board come back with a list of possibles. They then go off to seal the deal. Plan B to a Rooney move may have been buy Willan and use Schurrle as a deep 'faux' striker.
Exactly what I said at the start of the season and even before when targets were being drawn up and Jose reinstated. He doesn't control transfers and I'd be very surprised if there is a manager out there who does.
I think Arsene Wenger does, but that hasn't exactly worked out well for Arsenal in recent times has it
