SGT Palacios, seems he will be signing for us very very soon.

I will. He is a good honest pro. Hope he eventually manages to put the tragedy that befell his family to one side, at least enough to let him play at the level he is capable of.

If it's true that we're replacing him with Diarra, then I won't miss him as a player, but I will miss one of the most genuine and humble people in the league.
His form dipped horribly, yet understandably, with the tragedy that befell his brother, but he still always gave 100% in every game and never moaned about not being in the team.

When Kaboul scored the winner against Arsenal at the Emirates last season and wheeled away in celebration, he ran past Palacios who had the largest smile you'll ever see plastered across his face.
He was warming up on the sideline with 5 minutes left in the game.

One more thing that probably sums up the Honduran's humility, for me.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/8042102.stm

Manager Harry Redknapp confirmed Palacios left Spurs' team hotel in Liverpool at 0700 BST on Saturday to travel to Honduras.
"The lad had heard from his family at one in the morning what had happened, and his brothers, I believe, have identified the body," he said.
"He sat around the hotel lobby with his case packed until 7am because he didn't want to wake me.
"I'm amazed with him. But we organised for him to be driven back to London so he could get a flight home."

I hope that he gets a great reception every time that he returns to WHL, as he deserves one.

Well our club (as the manager states) is a Battersea dogs home, perhaps all wilson needs is a fresh start & a comforting arm around his shoulders (like pulis did with etherington & pennant).

Anyway all the best for the upcoming season, would be nice to meet in the Europa Final <laugh>

I think that Palacios just needs a change of scenery, as much as anything.
A regular place in the side and no reminders of his brother's tragic death should help to get him out of his current slump.

You'll enjoy his tenacity, team spirit and commitment, but you'll have to forgive his passing! <laugh>
Good luck for the season and keep pissing off the Gooners!

I'd echo everything that PNP has said in this thread.

In terms of his footballing abillity, I never thought he was a big step up from Zokora, he was stronger but possesed the same poor range of passing that leave him panicking when he was closed down. That said, at the right club he will be an excellent player and I think he should be well suited to the way Stoke are trying to progress their football.

Mighty Huth, good luck for the new season, I always look forward to the Stoke fans visiting <ok>

I think you might just beat Chelsea and I hope you do. Tony Pulis is the sort of boss who will get the best out of Wilson but no I won't miss him. He'll be good for you though.

Wilson will be a fine acquisition for whichever team he signs for. Though, as always, I'd prefer not to sell him to a team we will have to face because old players always come back to bite you, and Sarge has a helluva bite!!!

But good luck to him, if he moves on.
