I am passionate about Saints and it does effect my sleep patterns when I think back on bad results such as Rochdale and when I am looking forward to games, and when it comes to Saints I am abit of glass half empty sort of person. I won't boo the players, I won't call for them to be publicly flogged if we don't win, and I will always get behind them 100% and applaud good play and not such good play to create a positive environment, however I am very concerned, about our last games. Isn't it funny how the last games have all panned out, but if you look at who we have to play (including Rochdale), we have not lost against many teams but we have already lost against Rochdale, Brentford, Plymouth, Walsall and only drawn against Brighton and Hartlepool. If the games left have the same results then we will only get 2 pts. We have a worrying injuries - I am worried!!!
Hartlepool and Walsall should be much easier at home than away. Frankly, if we aren't beating them at home we probably don't deserve to go up! We outplayed Brighton when they came here in my opinion, though I'm still not sure we'll get anything at the Withdean. I think the crunch games are likely to be Brentford and Plymouth; we need to win one of them at least. Getting back to your point that they've both beaten us this season, the Plymouth game was the first of the season when they were still a promotion favourite and looked a very good team. It's kinda gone downhill for them since then! As for Brentford, I've heard this was our worst performance of the season by a mile. So I'm still reasonably confident. Having said this we'll probably go and beat Brighton, Plymouth and Brentford and lose our home games. Oh how I love the Saints.
I understand that circumstances were different for the Plymouth game, we battered Walsall and got nothing for our efforts, played very well against a cynical Brighton and were hopeless against a useful Brentford. I just worry that the gods are plotting against us, with our injuries and having to play teams that having already got a result against they maybe more positive playing us.
Remember that Huddersfield only scored at the end as well. Winning when not at best is how you get promoted. Also look at the stats, we had lots of shots on target. Our second half was worth a win. We're sometimes a bit hard on ourselves.
