Take away personal views but when will people learn that there is no point in disregarding UEFAs stance /rules ! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...unch-disciplinary-proceedings-against-8665463 Another fine ? Section closed ? Or worse ? All this is doing is damaging Celtic FC... Over a hundred grand in fines to date... If the close a stand, lost revenue and atmosphere at a crucial game ?
The ****ing WORLD are talking positively about Celtic fans actions I'm actually proud of the supporters UEFA are corrupt aa **** and also hypocrites: Celtic fans are looking to match the fine and send it to a Palestinian charity Will people never learn? They're fully aware and think LIFE is more important than football matches Bra ****ing vo
Its it about wether it was positive or not ... Its about how the actions of a few effect the club and all fans of Celtic . These types of issues are more important than football ... Answer, take the protest away from an less significant football match . These protests can lead the club getting into trouble that can impact all fans .. What if Celtic got kicked out of European football because of a few hundred fans? Is that fair on all Celtic fans ? Protest outside the ground ... Definitely ... But don't do it that can affect the other 58000 in the ground
Being socially conscience is not new to Celtic or their fans When Celtic were ordered to remove their tricolour did they? Did their refusal not threaten the club? The club said no and they were right to. A protest needs exposure. To do this protest inside Celtic Park made sense. Not only because of the exposure but because part of the protest is about the inclusion of Israeli teams in uefa against uefa rules. This is the same sort of thing that happened to South Africa during apartheid. Being a Celtic fan or supporter you should come to expect this as it is nothing new. It is what our club is about...standing up for what is morally right...and we are hated for it by the people it's an honour to be hated by. Will uefa punish us. Yes and I welcome it. The more and worse they punish us the more and better exposure we and the BDS movement receives. But UEFA don't have the balls to kick out racists or apartheid teams...so will they kick us out ? Doubt it. 58000 know what we are...if they know their history
Yes and I welcome it ... We and the bds movement Ok , enjoy taking part in protests Hope the same level of protest is done at the away leg as its a very important issue for those who organised and took part ...
Imagine sitting at home laughing at people campaigning for human rights and then hoping these same fans, your own fans, get a doing when they go to Israel
I'm laughing at your comments ... Not people protesting (I've nothing against people protesting against Isreal ... And I certainly don't support isreals massively growing land grabs... However, my issue is doing it within Celtic Park against the clubs best advices imo) My second point is ... I think if people feel so strongly about an issue that they don't care about the football club they support getting fined (or others fans and current players ) then they should, to get maximum coverage from the televised games, do it at both legs ...
Not what I said at all ... I don't agree with in the stadiums at all ...outside, yeah ... Go for it . However, if they do it at CP against advices (that they feel so passionately about it to disregard The club getting ****ed ) they should do it away to maximise the protest. It's Tv coverage after all .
No pud You think it hurts Celtic To do it in Israel would also "hurt Celtic" So you don't support them doing it in Israel You hope they don't so you can call them cowards or hypocrites and if they do you want them beaten and shown up as neds or wee fannies Nice On another note as our team fly to Israel today, Israel are at this minute bombing civilians in Gaza But aye...uefa fines
Again, I never said I supported them doing it in Isreal ... You assume a lot ... I don't agree with Isreali teams being in EUrope but I'm not sure 100 guys holding flags up will make a difference or make a change to UEFA policy... Buts that's just me ...others do see a point to it. I don't mix my politics with sport ... I don't see the point And especially when it hurts the club . Football for me is a way to relax and escape my daily "duties"'. So do many others - others, the opposite I guess . Celtic getting fined won't make any difference to Isreali aggression ... So, imo the protest at cp was pointless... Might make more impact in Isreal ? The only good part is the money that will be raised for charities ... Do more of that would be a better use of people's time imo ( and continue to protest , lobby mps etc but not inside cp)
You said you think they should go and do it If your main objection is the hurting of the club then you do not mean this My run down of assumptions will hit the mark. It's obvious It has had an effect. It and the actions of uefa have embarrassed Israel further. It's not a "killing blow" but this type of protest is "death by 1000 cuts" to apartheid I don't need to convince you of this, it happensd in South Africa as you grew up. Mixing politics and sport worked for South Africa so to say it has no effect means you haven't paid attention to history. Bombs landing 20 miles from where we play on Tuesday
I don't want them to do it ... Home or away , I've made that very clear . So, stop making assumptions . However, what I said was if they feel so passionate about it then they should do it away after doing it at home (after being warned there would be consequences) I know my history well enough to know that times have changed ... South Africa was the political topic of the 80a and people power was a lot stronger , hence the free nelson Mandela protest and not buying SA products had a massive effect. However , this issue doesn't get the press or the people focus that SA issues did, I have no idea why ...maybe because our politicians back Isreal and no one speaks up against it. It's a different climate now ... Hence why only 100 people held the flags . In the 80s, and if it was a protest against SA apartheid , then it would be a few 1000 minimum. So,I'm not sure if these protests amount to much other than to get the club fined. I could've wrong ...maybe you are right re death by a 1000 cuts ...
I've only one thing to say on my assumptions and your non support of the flag waving...well that's not strictly right.. You do. "I think if people feel so strongly about an issue that they don't care about the football club they support getting fined (or others fans and current players ) then they should, to get maximum coverage from the televised games, do it at both legs ..." #NotSupport
Doesn't bother me one way or another to be honest. It's only a game but it does amuse me that so many sad bastards are so desperate to score points over the said non-existence of a 'Club' that they've made it their life's work and spending tens of thousands of GBP on it. It's all rather tragic but please continue
