Suarez become the player to score the most goals in a PL season?

We all know it's a 38 game season so the record stands at 31. Back when it was a 42 game season it was 34 (see below)

Most goals in a season (38 games): 31, joint record:
Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers, 1995–96)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United, 2007–08)


Most goals in a season (42 games): 34, joint record:
Andrew Cole (Newcastle United, 1993–94)
Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers, 1994–95)


Personally I think he'll beat the 31 goals scored, and it wouldn't surprise me if he even beats the 34 record too. If he does either it'll some achievement considering he missed the start of the season. He's currently on 22 with 17 games left

He will. And the record needs to reflect that he did it without penalties.

 

That's true. Looking at the current records they were all penalty takers (I think?).

 

Depends on injuries and discipline issues.

If he plays every game until end of season he has a bloody good chance of beating 34 goals.

Too much to hope he will go that long without getting injured or getting a lengthy ban for calling someone "fatty fat pants" and being charged with being fattist.

Doesn't really get injured does he,only banned for lengthy spells.

If he manages to play the rest of the season it's almost certain. The trouble is you never know what strange new variation on misbehaviour he might concoct.

 

I don't think he will. Our home games from now on are considerably harder than they were when Suarez rejoined the group, and it's his home form that is most impressive. Then again, wouldn't put it past him.

 

If anyone does it'll be him. Second the kudos to Astro re pens, very good point. If he plays every game I fdancy him to do it.

With 22 down and 17 games to go.... he could get a goal a game if he continues on.. which would be 39 goals in 38 games....

there is a possibility of it.. and that ignores his scoring rate excluding..... hmmm how to the bbc sign off their reports on anything suarez does.

I think suarez will take the golden boot in europe this year (ronaldo will challenge this) and should if anyone has any sense of fairness take the FW and players footballer of year in england.

31 goals? 9 more in 17 games. thats 3 hat tricks and he'll get 6 v villa.... alone!
