Maybe i'm just being deluded but i am not sure it is a foregon conclusion that DG will leave. If he sticks to his word and only wants to sign for a Premiership club then IMO we have some hope. Because all of the big clubs (ie Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, City) will be making big signings and then offloading their weaker players the lower prem clubs that may have been interested in DG may rather sign an experienced Prem player now surplus to requirements at those big clubs due to the clearouts. The perfect example being Sturridge leaving Chelsea. The clubs maybe looking at DG, a team like Bolton, Blackburn, Newcastle may now sign a player like Sturridge instead. That is my hope anyway.

    Don't know about Arsenal chris.

Obviously they won't go down to the Championship. But I genuinely believe that if they were to sign Danny Graham, Martin Taylor and John Eustace as squad players, they would win the Premier League next season. Those three players offer everything that Arsenal are lacking. Except a goalkeeper, but let's face it, Arsenal's keeper situation isn't as precarious as Man United's.

NNW - i think you miss my point. I am saying that the big clubs will be making big signings by the look of things and therefore will look to move on some of their squad players to lower prem clubs. Those lower prem clubs are the ones interested in Graham and hopefully they will sign the bigger clubs squad players that have prem experience rather than look at top end champ players. Hopefully anyway!

Folks, very simply Watford need to sell player(s) to the value of at least £3m to repay the short term debts. Watford's debts have steadily risen to the best part of £15m with all of the "short term loans" and finance arrangements.

Larry + co know that player sales need to generate new cash (not more debt), so we NEED to sell DG at a minimum. Look at the way Larry eagerly said "YES" to the Sarries pennies, very simply there has to be sales as the current level of debt will be unsupported beyond 30th June when the Season Ticket loan falls due.

Just like in 2005 player sales need to grease the wheels of our future.

I hope you're right, but think you're wrong. I think 13 clubs will realise just how imperative it is that they bring in a marquee signing, given how tight the relegation rat-race was this year. Not all 13 of those can afford to take high wage gambles on the Joe Coles and Robbie Keanes, and a lot of them will feel that 21 or 22 year old Champions League rejects won't cut it. On the other hand, the Championship fans' player of the year AND top goalscorer just might be considered value for money.

Arsenal will not be signing Martin Taylor - that is guaranteed (remember Eldorado? LOL).

And I doubt if Eustace could hack it in the Prem, remember Stoke sold him to us in 2007 when they wanted Glenn Whelan to perform that role instead!

I've had a bit of banter on the Arsenal board about Taylor actually. On pure footballing grounds of course: I'm not for a moment making a mockery of that tackle.

Clearly they're not Bergkamp, Viera and Adams. But they do have many of the qualities that Arsenal need. And I'm sure there are many Arsenal fans that would give an arm, a leg and then some for a poor man's version of Tony Adams.

We simply do not know this. Bazzini must be a front, he cannot have amassed in the 3 years since bankruptcy enough free cash to be able to make an incredibly risky investment of £5m and counting (all without coming up on any search engines for his business exploits, and whilst still living in a modest house etc). How much would you have to have to risk that sort of money. £20m? £25m? No chance.

I am hoping as others have speculated that it is the Segro people behind him - in which case we have no idea what funds may be available. If it is a speculative punt on getting Watford into the Prem, everybody will be aware that no matter how good the manager, the chances of doing it for peanuts are negligible; if the investment was to try to get the club to a self sustaining Champ status, then that is an investment with a very slender chance of making a return of any sort. It all points to a punt, and to make that punt, money will have to be spent.
