Welcome to the inaugural Tottenham Not606 Wigan Prediction League :smiley-finger007:

I can already sense the excitement this will generate among our northern chums...

Famous Wigan food products include Heinz baked beans, Pataks Indian Foods, Potters
herbal remedies and Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls.

Wiganers are sometimes known as ‘pie-eaters’ - but contrary to popular myth this has nothing to do with
their love for pies. It actually dates back to the miners’ strike in the 1920s, when Wigan miners were
forced back to work before the strike was over. As a result they were said to have eaten ‘humble pie’.

In the 1960s and 70s, Wigan Casino was the spiritual home of ‘Northern Soul’ music,
attracting thousands to its famous all-nighters. The casino burnt down in the
early 1980s. In the 90s the town gained a reputation as a centre for jazz and now hosts
an international jazz festival every summer.

    Next Game:
ARSENAL v WIGAN (coincidental, I know)

    Tuesday 14th May 7.45pm

    Correct Result: 5 points
    Exact scoreline: 3 points
Correct Wigan goal tally: 2 points
Each named Wigan goalscorer: 400 points
Failure to predict: 1,000,000 points deducted
Failure to predict Wigan win: An evening in the service of Big Dave Whelan <yikes>.

  5. Brilliant WY!! <laugh>

Much as I would love Wigan to repeat their exploits from Saturday with a last minute winner, I think a draw may be the best we can hope for - but that is as good for us anyway.

So 1 - 1 for me, with Maloney scoring an 85th minute freekick equaliser..... <cross fingers>

...no, not the covered walkway on the left, I kid you not, the wooden thing on the right!! plans for a merry-go-round, helter skelter, and a ghost train have been rejected, due to Health and Safety having some slight concerns.

Who's going to predict an Arsenal win first?

I would like Wigan to stay up so I'm hoping they win. But it's hope rather than expectation. Arsenal keep scoring late goals to win at home.

I have you know that Uncle Joe's Balls aren't as minty as he claims.

Woolwich 0-1 Mighty Wigan Athletic, FA Cup holders.
Late Maloney free-kick, as Szchesney Hawkes just doesn't have the quality to deal with it. <ok>
