Looks like Wigan have done it again. My pleasure was for Dave Whelan a super owner and knowldge of the game via playing it. Place him along Quinny as a Mr Football, remember him breaking leg playing for Blackburn in 1960 FA Cup final.

Always sad to see a team Relegated, and we can all relate to that.

Martinez deserves nothing but the utmost praise IMO. Turned a move to Villa down to stay loyal to Wigan and then turned an almost impossible situation around over the last 10 weeks.

To think they have 40 points and by Sunday might only be 2 points behind us is remarkable.

Yes, Wigan have done well for such a 'small club'

    Fallen champions

Blackburn are the only former Premier League champions that have been relegated. They have suffered this fate twice. In 1999, they made the descent to the second tier, where they stayed for two seasons before returning to the top flight in 2001-2002.

I won't shed any tears for Blackburn, and I'm not arsed to admit it.

Perenially dull, owned by idiots, managed by a backstabbing delusionist, **** fans base.

Wigan have a passionate owner, a classy manager that is learning quick, and erm, a **** fan base.

I'm pleased for Whelan, a man who genuinely adores his club and indeed brought a tiny club from the brink of bankruptcy to the top table, and kept them there, and for Bobby Martinez, who I genuinely feel in time will manage a truly big club, and do it well.
