Part one of our three part equation Is completed successfully, To cheat those who say relegation So thank you so far to Swansea If Chelsea can now go to Villa And take all three points Saturday, With perhaps a last minute killer Then that would open up the way... ..for us to go and beat West Bromwich And so keep our place here secure, And to Hughton pay some small homage For the flak he´s had to endure And to those of you who´ll be seething Even if we stay up this year, In PL terms we´re only teething But to you, none of this is clear There´s no point in reiterating To those who´d nail him to a wall, That we all should be celebrating If we can keep clear of the fall. Either you had taken a big risk preparing that poem before full-time or you literally just think in poetry!
Hopefully all the team were in Colney tonight watching that, and that's fired them up to go out and do the job this weekend. I'll admit I'm a little concerned that Man City could only put one goal past West Brom though.
Well done RBF, I love the fact that you are not afraid to flaunt your positivity! I guess it's an age thing, we've suffered long spells of watching worse than today's team, but it's the team we love whichever league they play in! We have no God-given right to demand top-flight football, but we will always strive to be there if we can!
Hi RBF bor, as you quite rightly point out, it is a three-part equation. The job is still incomplete. A sigh of relief but no elation until the final outcome. Swansea Town (as they were then) have always been one of my favourite teams ever since I saw us beat them 1-0 at Carrow Road way back in 1949. The Swans won the league that year and I still remember their centre-half Reg Weston's display that day. Back to the current situation, we should not have to rely on other clubs to pull our chestnuts out of the fire. CH does not inspire much confidence with his team strategy of late, personally I think he should reinstate Ruddy in goal, would lift both the team and the fans and WBA certainly won't bundle him into the net like they did to Bunn in their home game. Regards to Muttley LOL.
Afternoon NORKIE, you´re right of course, we shouldn´t have to rely on others to save ourselves, but like it or not, that always has and always will be part of the game. As much as we want to be reliant on ourselves, if that can´t always be the case, then the other is certainly good enough for me. Not quite sure what´s going on with the Ruddy situation, would have thought he´d have been back before now
hi RBF. on the Ruddy situation, conspiracy theorists will have you believe that we cannot risk injury to him as we have negotiated a lucrative transfer for him to be implemented in July. whether this is true or not he is currently a City player and we need him between the sticks on Sunday. this will give the team and the fans a massive lift.
I wondered if something like that might be in the pipeline, if true, but if so it´s being kept very quiet, those sort of things generally seem to be leaked if there´s any truth in them.
This - I don´t know dave, maybe it is an age thing, certainly we´ve known far worse times than the present that´s for sure.
