he gave the two c/backs a hard time today as a lone front man ,the future for him and us looks bright , he must be brimming with confidence after these last two games ,just what we need in the last fixtures ,well done connor
Never been his greatest fan - so many managers have looked at him and left him alone. Hope the ball keeps rolling his way - there is a thin line between skill and luck x
For **** sake we have a player who does really well and scores 3 goals in 1 and a bit games Just be pleased for the lad. What the **** do people want? If you want world beaters go become a glory supporter. We are what we are. The lad has stood up and been counted. Well done son.
his control is good for a big unit and all of a sudden he is killing the ball dead and laying it off from all angles
Another good game from the lad. Fair play. What the **** have we been doing with him the last few seasons? He could be twice the player now, looking at today's performance it makes me fume at the way his development has been handled even more.
That comment is crap. His last 2 performances have been nothing about luck. He held it up for us fantastically and his 1st goal against city and his one today were proper strikers goals, you can't teach a player that, and it's certainly not about luck. To do these kind of things against world class defenders at the age of 20 is exceptional. Young players have a tendency to be inconsistent, but the boy has talent and he's showing it. Your football knowledge is very little if you consider his last 2 performances lucky.
But I dont consider them lucky, I know how hard he tries and how it hasn't worked for him until now, so. Until now he has been........errrrr, lets make it simple.......unlucky. Agreed? Oh. By the way. It has taken nearly 3 seasons for this striker to score 3 goals in 2 games in the prem. Whilst I wish him well (for the benefit of SAFC), he should wake up every morning and praise SAFC for his chance. As should the two who seem about to leave - Colback from the bairn's ranks and Bardsley the redeemed. **** you. x
Just a point about his attitude, maybe the celebration of his goal today when only Boirini ran to him is a sign of why he has not had more game time. Could be his attitude has inhibited his progress. Prima donna is a long way from Maradonna.
He is a big unit who in today's game wont get many goals but should get plenty of assists. I want him to do well and to this end will support him. However, at £8M to get him do not expect me to give him an easy time. How much would we get for him now if we sold him? Be honest! I came on this to praise him and have ended up (in some myoptic eyes) deriding him! Typical Sunderland. x
Sorry Bobby mate. Think you are a great poster and wasn't looking to start a fight or have a pop. Just a bit sick of people having a go at a young kid ( I agree you didn't, I've had a great deal to drink though so please excuse me) Some people on here did the same with Henderson and look at him now. The lad was always going to be a class act yet a certain element wanted to slag him. I see the sane thing with Wickham. He isn't the greatest striker in the world but he is doing his best to prove it. Let's get behind him and remember we are Sunderland no Barcelona. I think it will be a cracking atmosphere next weekend.
Bobby none of us know how Wickham has been managed since he came here but most of us would probably say poorly. Does he have an attitude problem? Not that I've seen on the pitch. How much is he worth, well if he keeps doing what he has done the last two games £50 million plus. Would we recoup our £8 million investment tomorrow? Probably not. You say though that he cost £8 million so you won't give him an easy time! Well it wasn't his fault we deemed him worth £8 million. In time I think he will prove his worth but for now we don't have to give him a hard time about how it.
