We can only dream at what a difference these two would have made up front.

I saw the Wycombe v Huddersfield match last night. Weve heard it said that he's only playing in League One but Rhodes is unbelievably sharp. I saw him score at Charlton just a few days before he was sold and I was excited by him. He wouldve complimented Wickham perfectly - one big, strong, great on the ball, shaking up the central defenders and the other slight, small, sprinting in behind and finishing chances with finesse you'll see Rooney and co put wide! The only striker I can really think to compare his style to would be Gary Lineker.

And this is the problem Ipswich Town will now be facing: Obviously I could never bring myself to back Leeds United, but the prospect of traveling just up the road to see Jordan in action is a lot more mouth watering than going to see my own club. It's been that long now that teenagers in Ipswich won't have any recollection even of beating Inter Milan, nevermind the decade before it or even further back.

I don't think there is any way back for Ipswich Town for the foreseeable future. The crowds are
only going to get worse and the level of investment is not going to be sustainable.

Not really Gus... we have had the players pass through the club, weve just had a Chief Exec who's forced them on.

The sale of these 2 just epitomises everything that is wrong about our club. With Evans' money, why did we need to sell Wickham? And where has that money gone? The sale of Rhodes was just an absolute disgrace by Keane. We should have built the team around these 2, and then bought young, hungry players in the mould of Cresswell, rather then the oldies that Jewell seems persistent on buying.

They would have only made a difference if we had a decent, creative midfield, but we don't.

...but if we had them then that midfield would have become an investment possibility I think.

The problem isnt the strikeforce though is it???
As much as I think Rhodes is a fantastic striker, we already have supposedly one of this leagues best strikers in Chopra. Scotland and Priskin have also scored plenty of goals at this level but if you dont create chances and you dont keep chances out at the other end it doesnt matter. We could have bloody Van Nistelrooy in his prime playing up front for us and it wouldnt help our course. What we need is wingers who can cross and supply the chances and then we may get to see the best of our forwards. A nice tight defence to enable us to build a base from which we can attack would also be beneficial.

We should have kept Rhodes for all money, but the question still nags, is division one his level. We still do not know whether he could score on a regular basis at a higher level, or is he the Graham Hick of football, a flat track bully.

Completely agree tractorbhoy. I do think that Carson should be given more of an opportunity, and its such a shame that O'Connor, who I thought was excellent under Keane, has not developed to the full potential that I thought he would. The defence is a serious issue though, we concede far, far too many.

If it wasn't for Roy Keane not liking Rhodes' dad he'd still be at the club most likely. We have so much to hate Roy Keane for and I think this may turn out to be the biggest reason...
