I am sure that Harris is doing the best he can from a bad bunch of players -- and bad is precisely what he's got (( well, insofar as it concerns strikers. ))..... So - Why has he sent Joe Gbode out on loan to Hastings ?? It's not as if Gills are blessed with an abundance of goal scorers.... I have previously stated that Gbode has not been given a decent run in the team - to show his potential - as was obvious at the Portsmouth pre-season friendly. Taking Gbode away from the squad only serves to weaken the options - especially as Gills have struggled to fill the bench.... Joe may prove to be as 'bad' as the other so-called strikers in the squad - but - if you don't give him a chance, we'll never know.
I agree with you mate, it seems to be something we inherently do, not sure why, has it ever served a good purpose for us. I think even Martin Allen was guilty of that and was made to pay for it when we got promoted, due to the difference between the two leagues, where those out on loan would have served us better in the league above. I think most managers we've had have been guilty of it.
This is annoying, it's not like the strikers are scoring now especially league. I really think he has huge potential.
So we have a small squad but youngsters still not playing even though 3rd from bottom in bottom league.
