Do we keep making it difficult for ourselves? Catts will be rightly slaughtered for a stupid tackle (although I still maintain he never touched that cheating **** mohammady) and he can have little recourse as it's intent but Dossena was a dafter prick for his. Wtf was he thinking? I like to know why their player wasn't sent off at the end as well. However, from what I have seen today, Hull will be one of the relegation favourites as they were awful. Palace will be another and Norwich won't be far off either. Our aim is to be above all these by the end of May. Ki will come in for Cattermole now and might keep him out for a while and Bardsley to left back and celustka at right back. Bring on the Saints and we go again next week.
cats should of been booked or a stern talking to, he was a little over zealous . dossena was a straight red , really bad challenge. im really proud of the magnificent nine that remained on the field and the fans who travelled. we are gong to get some luck soon , hopefully. the back three were superb second half.

but you won't be not relegated. you will go down due to inept managers and an inept board and fouling cheating players
It was just one of those days when everything goes tits up, although we have had one too many of these types of games already for this season. I think Cattermole has one last chance... The problem for Cattermole is that he often walks this fine line between brilliance and over extending. Is he capable of turning it around? ****mo didn't help with his sporting integrity. Dossena? I'd rather not see him play for SAFC again, even if it means Bardsley at left back.

Don't forget Fulham Cest, they'll be in the mix as well. Hope he goes with you fullbacks option and doesn't drop Colback into LB, he's impressed me since he went back into midfield, ran himself into the ground today and should be giving Catts a right bollocking for dropping them all in it. Stupid rash tackle that didn't need making in the first place, but the daft twat was well late and the intent was there as well. Deffo red card and Dossena, WTF???? Good performances all round from the 9 that dug in and could easily have nicked a point today, if they can take that into the next game we'll be OK.
From watching the slow motion Cattermole may have been unlucky, but watch it in full speed and it looks nasty. The tackle from Dossena is absolutely sickening, I hope he get's a huge ban as that's far worse than biting someone IMO. Brady's wasn't a red, he didn't go in as fast and it wasn't head on, he also hit the ground well before contact so it wasn't too different to a normal slide tackle. This is total bullshit. We have been performing exceptionally against much better teams than yourselves and rightfully getting plaudits as such, listen to Owen et al. singing our praises. We outplayed you when you had 11 men, the phase where we had what must have been 30 passes comes to mind. When you went down to 9 it messed up the game as you put 8 behind the ball at all times and did a very good job of being hard to break down whilst we didn't have our two most creative players on the pitch. I am extremely confident in us staying up and I'm fairly sure we'll be above you. My dad is a Mackem so I like Sunderland but Paolo ****ed you up and I don't think Gus will turn it around, hopefully you stop trying to win by breaking the legs of the opposition
'From what I have seen today' is an easy line - from what we have seen today Sunderland will have 1 or 2 men sent off every match - therefore you'll get about 10 more points at best. We weren't great today but we have been strong in The majority of our games. I don't see us being near the bottom - in the main thanks to a fantastic CB and 2 cracking central midfielders that Bruce brought in over the summer. From the first 10 games Palace and yourselves look doomed wih a scrap between stoke Cardiff and Norwich for the other place.
Now who is talking BS? Catts and Dossena's tackles were both Red cards no doubt about it as was Brady's if Johnson's leg was planted in any way shape or form he would of got them broke. Leaving the ground and flying in studs showing is a red card and no amount of bias can change that fact. As for being above us come the end of the season? Who knows but it shouldn't be hard as we are in the bottom three and playing dire football so it dosn't say much about your ambitions.
From what I've learned about this league over the years is that a season has NEVER been won/lost or relegation decided in November. I enjoy your optimism as we had it with Bruce as well (at the start) but I also remember the great start you had the last time you where in this league only to plummet which ended in your relegation if i'm not mistaken?
I hate to nitpick but you are mistaken. The year you refer to was the year we stayed up thanks to your friends on the Tyne. As for managers Bruce is a different gear to Phil Brown There is no point debating SB's management as we 'll have Opposing views I'm sure. All I would say on that count is looking at the last few years SB's reign looks ok in comparison to others youve had in charge
Nothing to debate about Bruce as I don't rate him as a manager. He can get the odd good player in but tactically he always proved lacking and when the pressure was on would often fold with no plan B. Also I thought the year you got relegated you had a decent start? but I could be wrong.
