The hell did we let Gary Johnson slip through the net, if anyone had the credentials to sort this club out on the playing side it was him, another short sighted decision made by the board? Put GJ and MM head to head there is no comparison to be made with regards to knowledge of the lower football leagues, GJ has been there and done it and we should have made him an offer he couldnt refuse.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Think the board may have been worried as ex city. I know MM is ex city but GJ is very recent. If results didnt start good under GJ I doubt the fans would have had the patience as he is ex city. But could have worked out. Yeovil seem very happy with him.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing...GJ got the heave ho from Northampton, so he wasn't an obvious choice. Yeovil's special place for him. He loves it there and they love him.I honestly don't hink GJ would have lasted long either.Things keep turning toxic down at the Mem, and I think GJ would have gone the same way as MM.
I wonder if we would be better spending any funds we have trying to poach him than wasting a fortune on on 5 or 6 players, we have a couple of real issues with the squad which have been well documented, not least the midfield and lack of pace, that aside I would be willing to bet GJ could shake up this lot up and get a response. Does the financial restraint with players include bringing in a manager?
