Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill: "My main emotion is one of disappointment. Conceding a goal so late in the match, coming off the back of a couple of decent chances, is frustrating. But we have to take it and look forward to the next match. "Reading adapted to the conditions better than we did and the pitch was firm and slippery on top. They started more brightly than we did and got the goal which they deserved. "We got back in through the penalty and from then on we were never out of the game. It could have gone either way, but to concede was very disappointing." For both goals our defence was static and shocking. Simple Question - what has gone wrong with our defence? Are we playing a zonal defence and the players aren't up to it or do we just not have the players anymore who can defend (in any system) ?
He was fit enough to play in Saudi but not in the premier just yet. The standard over here doesn't need much fitness lol. The lad should e up to speed soon bu not soon enough.
Watched goals on sunday this morning and le fondre was a guest. I was a bit shocked to say the least, shepherd said did you know they be zonal marking (on the winner) fondre said yes we knew exactly what they would do, stand flatlined, we knew we could get the run on them?
Zonal works very well for us, how many goals have we conceded from Corners this season? Harte got his ball spot very hard to defend against regardless, but we shouldn't have given the stupid free kick away in the first place
