was or has been your most influential person in football ever, obviously it don't have to be someone famous? I'm sure you will guess mine instantly as you read; He wasn't frightened of being controversial, he was not fearful of having an opinion, even in the face of adversity he stood up for what he believed. He took Nottingham Forest to great heights they would ever reach. He was an advocate of youth i believe. He dealt with hooligan's in his own way, long before it was even thought of being dealt with, even his own quote for that, " Football hooligans ? Well, there are 92 club chairmen for a start." He even had thoughts on cheating; After Derby had lost a European Cup semi-final game against Juventus in Turin in April 1973, he emerged from the dressing room and told the expectant Italian reporters, "No cheating b_______ do I talk to. I will not talk to any cheating b_______." He shut the dressing-room door, re-emerged and instructed "Tell them what I said, Brian!" One i remember well, was the game between Anderlecht v Nottingham Forest, 1984: http://www.theguardian.com/football...m-forest-anderlecht-match-fixing-scandal-1984 His most memorable quote for me was; "If God had meant football to be played in the air he would have put grass in the sky" He also had his devices proving he was only human, drink. His only questionable affect on football for me, was the first million pounds for one player. please log in to view this image Date of death 20 September 2004 (aged 69) RIP please log in to view this image "Old Big 'Ead" my most influential, who's yours?...
