Well we are back to where we were exactly a year ago when the Dark Lord was in his final death throws. I definately think that Jewell's days are now numbered and I can't see him surviving after todays abysmal result. The question is who will come in and save us from the drop?

Names out there include the likes of Dave Jones, Alan Curbishley, Sean O'Driscoll, Glen Hoddle, Steve Bruce to name a few. I would like to see Russel Osman given the gig in the short term and then have Sean O'Driscoll come in.

Let's get back to basics with the next managerial appointment and have someone who believes in playing proper passing football and believes in giving hungry talented players their chance to shine. For me O'Driscoll fits the Ipswich style of old and I think that he would relish the opportunity to manage at a club like Ipswich.

O'Driscoll could be a good shout.

Russell Osman made a good start as manager didn’t he? Or have I got that wrong?

If PJ does go, the problem with a caretaker is that we desperately need to bring players in during Jan. Not to mention ship a bunch of our jokers out.

Then again, if a caretaker like Osman can coach the current crop into something that resembles a football team (contrary to what people on another thread seem to think – there’s a bit more to managing a team that just picking the starting eleven), stop us being the softest touch in the country and bring in a proper full back plus a central defender maybe that will be enough for a mid table finish and to build in the summer.

Why sack Jewell? What is the point? What would it achieve? As far as I am concerned, he, the players and the board are equally to blame for our mess - if you're gonna sack one of them then you need to sack the rest.

Because we are going down faster than the Titanic.......!

Jewell is doing no better than the dark lord, he is just going about it in a more friendly manner.
PJ can share a taxi with Clegg, a good deal of the playing staff can share a mini bus in the summer.!

"if you're gonna sack one of them then you need to sack the rest."

Sounds good to me, ain't many I want around the club at the moment anyway.

Our young boys have shown more passion in the past than our current crop of past-their-bests. I agree with Hoppers who says we should go back to the likes of Peters, O'Connor and Hyam. While some may say they aren't good enough blah, blah, blah, at least they ****in' try and have time on their side to learn.

Fingers crossed that there will be a press conference during the next few days but somehow I doubt it!

It is not necessarily to oldies I want out, a mixture of youth + experience is always best, it is the useless w@*$&~s I want to see the back off, Leadboots, Delaney, Ingermarson, Ellington, JET & less use of loan players, especially when they have 24 hr return clauses written in..!

I'm really starting to think that another manager could do better with our current squad than what we are seeing at the moment. It doesn't take a genius to see that Leadknob shouldn't be playing. Or that we are a one paced, one dimensional team with no creativity or steel in the middle of the park. We're useless at defending and equally as inept at attacking. It's not like we don't have the players here to do something about it but they are just not being chosen or given a chance. What happened to Kennedy, although over thirty he has always done ok when playing. We could put him in at left back and push Cressy forward or utilise him in the holding midfield role. He has a decent cross and can pick a pass better than Leadknob.

Agreed Hoppers, all we want to see is people who at least try, if not the most gifted. Thing that baffles me is that PJ has never even seen some of our senior players in real competitive matches but overlooks them in favour of our perrenial underacheivers.
Speaking of 24 hr clauses, where do you think we would be if we hadn't had Stockdale, bottom three I don't doubt

San Diego, I havent been too bothered about losing Stockdale. He is a very good keeper but to be fair to ALB I dont think he has let us down 1 since he has played. His kicking isnt always great but other than that he has done very well.
Other than 1 or 2 exceptions I also cant see anyone in the squad that should play that is being overlooked. Hyam is the obvious exception and I would play Carson over both JET and Martin but he is still making appearances. I like OConnor but Cresswell is one of the few players to feature this season that does deserve credit. I could make a case for Peters, Smith and Murray but the first two when given the chance recently havent been great and Murray is based more on potential than what we have seen from him.
We have been let down but a lot of players this season. A team that includes the likes of Bullard, Bowyer and Chopra should never be in a position like the one we are in. I wouldnt even say we have got players in that are far past their best as last season all 3 of them looked impressive and not one of us foresaw this season being as bad as it is turning out. I think we all knew the squad was rather short termist but and that a need to bring in/ through younger players would be needed over an 18 month period but this team should not be in the position we are.
I can see things I think PJ has done wrong but it is the woeful individual mistakes that have annoyed me. As a team we have never shown any signs of brilliance but we have also gone 85 minutes a match of being able to pick up more points then we have actually got. During those 5 minutes a player will make an individual mistake and we get punished.
Take Forest yesterday, We were poor all match but we gave them at least two of their goals and it seems every week that we are giving ourselves mountians to climb.
Im hoping that if PJ is given time that over the next few weeks we see some comings and goings because our first team is nowhere near good enough, regardless of who is in charge.
Personally I would rather see half our first team disappear rather than Jewell. I have seen 3 year olds with beach balls on holiday with more commitment, attention and enthusiasm than our team shows on occassions.

i think Jewell has to go he has been given long enough, Although i'm sure he has tried his best it seems that the job is abit harder than he thought i don't think slagging him off is really the way to go i doubt he wants us to be battling at the bottom but i feel the end of his reign is near.

I agree with Weighty, He doesn't want us to struggle but just seems as though he is blinkered towards washed up has beens ratahre than exciting young talent from the lower leagues.

As regards to who is next, I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be Glenn Hoddle or a Burley/Osman partnership.

I did see a bloke jumping off, but he was wearing a norwich shirt. No need to worry though, as with all cases norwich once he hit the ground he jumped up without an injury.
