Hi guys, QPR fan here in peace.

Just wanted to ask you a question. Following AVB sacking, its been posted on other boards that he wasnt responsible for buying the new players you got in the summer (8?)

So do you have a "director of football" type role who deals with the transfers / signings etc OR was he directly responsible for the new signings?
Im not commenting on thm our thier ability.

Just a genuinne question to help clear up a few points on a few other threads.

Good luck for the rest of the season and Hands Off our BAE! <ok> <laugh>

We have Franco Baldini, who was hired on AVB's specific request, so it's not really an excuse for him <ok>

It depends if Baldini was watching these players before he moved to us, and came to the club with a list of players he was aware of, although Lamela you can put down as a definite Baldini signing from his time with Roma.

We're much better off having a manager and a head scout, that way the manager signs players he wants with the help of staff he has appointed, otherwise with the Dof role the manager will have players he never picked, a system which really doesn't work for us and for that Avb should have been more vocal unless he may have favoured these signings, no one really knows apart from Avb, Baldini and Levy what actually went on.

We can read online, gossip, etc but none of us are privy to the conversations which take place,

I might be the only one, but I'm still confident that all these players will come good. For me, it's still down to how AVB had them set up.

Soldado scored 25+ goals a season for 4 seasons in Spain. - if we actually play to his strengths, I have every confidence he'll do it again. But I will admit that I don't think he was the exact striker we needed.

Lamela hasn't had enough game time or a consecutive run of matches, but has shown glimpses of real talent and could be a very exciting player. - I've said before, I knew nothing about this kid before he joined and had my concerns, but even with limited game time I've seen enough to know we've potentially got something special.

Christian eriksen - top young talent IMO. Has been outstanding in the CL in the past. However, due to AVB's setup he has become really suffocated in the no10 role since joining, then got injured. I have every confidence in him.

Chadli - has been a scapegoat for many fans, when really he's had injury problems which haven't allowed him to get any rhythm. He also looks short of confidence. However, he looks decent in the air and has had a few decent games recently.

    Chiriches - brilliant signing.

Paulinho - workaholic. Really good player IMO.

Capoue - another good signing, who again, has been injured or played our of position and we haven't seen a massive amount from.

With a change to our tactics, I think all of these players will prove themselves, but they most have looked out of sync and uncomfortable with AVB's "game plan".

Hopefully the new boss will get the best out of them and the glimpses of class we've seen from these players will become more regular.

I'm certainly confident, and I think it's fair to say in usually a negative ****er! <laugh>

Lamela and Eriksen are the same age as young Tom Carroll? We have sent Carroll out on loan to get experience but we expect Eriksen and Lamela to fit straight in and become superstars. Something not quite right there.

To be fair, both have played at a higher level than Carroll. Lamela was adored at Roma and Eriksen is a proven International player. They may be the same age, but at very different stages of their evolution.

They're both full international players, very much so in Eriksen's case, with over 100 top-flight league games under their belts.
There shouldn't have been a massive expectation for them to instantly hit the ground running, though.

Baldini probably had a more commanding say and actually got the deals done but AVB can have no complaints, he was the one who wanted a DOF.

Lets not forget, AVB was Head Coach, NOT Manager, I think that speaks volumes.
