Id have Rafa any day at the club. All the best young players coming through, (Sterling, Suso, Shelvey, Wisdom) are all here because of Rafa. and our improvement in the youth set up is down to him And the owners want to develop good young players..... Then why look further than Rafa? To be fair though, I will back whoever they bring in, (So long as it is not Bruce, Allardyce, Hughes etc)
Outside bet for Carra? Martinez would be a mistake, but might fit if FSG want to start penny pinching. If he did get the money what would his buys be like? He's never had any money to spend so his transfer record is all but none existent. Rafa has the track record and the connections to get the right players, if backed. But the squad and staff has changed alot since he was in charge. AVB, yet to be seen what he has to offer. Success at Porto, complete failure at Chavski (although this is most likely down to player power). Pep? Would he want to take charge, got the impression that at the moment he wants to walk away for a while. Also feel that if its not Barca then he's not really interested.
More and more, I'm thinking Rafa. Before I dismissed the Rafa crowd as stuck in the past, and I've never been openly or aggressively anti Dalglish, but Rafa would be a great option. If he had have had money we would have Dani Alves and Jovetic in our team, and also seen Simao in the red of Liverpool. He gave an interview that's in the echo atm in which he says he wanted to play two from Lucas, Masch, Aqua and Gerrard with Jovetic floating between them, with Torres up front. With Alves at right back that'd have been some team. Also, his tactical genius would make up slightly for our currently poor squad, and he has huge experience at the top level AND a big name.
Spot on. I would be made up if he came back, Rafa is proven quality. Back him and he will get us in the Champions League no doubt about it.
He has literally just signed a 3 year deal for Leverkusen (I think them at least, but deffinitely a german club)
No, he's not proven; as per Rodgers, Martinez et al So it's settled, it's Mourinho......with Rafa as back up if in the extremely unlikely event that Jose says no.
I haven't seen anybody mention Fabio Capello? His cv is quite incredible. He's the best man available... what do you think?
All I know of him is what I saw with England...boring football. No idea what it was like during his club periods, but he won titles... Think I'd prefer a younger, attacking orientated manager.
