This week Newcastle have been linked with a 40m summer move for two of Lille's stars - Gervinho and Moussa Sow.

We will have all heard of Gervinho and have probably seen his lightening pace and keen eye for goal during his time in France and while on international duty for the Ivory coast. However Moussa Sow is a different story. I doubt that your average Newcastle fan - myself included know much about Mr Sow.

I decided do some research. Sow is a 25 year old forward who was born in Senegal. He has an inpressive goal return this season with 17 goals in 25 games in League un. At 5ft 11 he is a big lad and from what I have seen he uses his physical presence well.

Sow fits into the transfer ideology of Mike Ashley - he is 25 years old and looks set to improve as he matures as a player.

There is no chance we will part with 40m for Gervinho and Sow, however it would be good to see them both arrive at St James park this summer.

I have a posted a video of Sow's highlights on my blog if you want to know morehttp://mykindoftoon.blogspot.com/

Player in the French league that has played Sow good this season!
I'm dumbfounded to find anything else about him and I will not resort to Wiki.

Coming from France I also follow Ligue 1.
Gervinho and Sow are two great players in a very strong Lille side this season,
Sow is the league's top goalscorer with 20 goals and Gervinho is holder to the most assists.
If we are going to buy one of the two I think Gervinho would be the best buy. He is reoported to be valued at 10 million, which is a great price for the lad.
He can cross, has pace, is great at running into the box from the wing and every goal he has scored this season has appeared to be amazing.
Don't rate him on his goalscoring record as he has been played as a winger for most of the season, but I think he could blossom as a striker if needed.

Sow on the otherhand is another great player but is slight over priced ranging between 15-20 million. He is a goalscorer and has a great impact on the team so if Pardew does decide to go for him I wouldn't be too unhappy.

Both have great potential, if we can get Sow for less then go for him, if not then look elsewhere (Jermaine Lens). Gervinho should be snapped up straight away as he is worth every penny.

Would like Sow, but doubt Lille will sell both Gervinho and Sow to us, especially as Hazard is also reported as being linked a Prem League switch.

^ Yeah, totally agree. It'll be the equivalent of us selling Enrique, Tiote and Barton. You get the point right?

Precisely, it just wouldn't happen if they club had any sense. They're table toppers at the minute, why would they part with their 3 best players?
Reckon it will be pretty difficult for us to get Gervinho, but very much hoping we do! He's at the top of my list this summer. At the top of most of our lists no doubt, ( though probably Sturridge and Vargas top yours Sanchino haha)

Well Vargas is the top one, then probably Gervinho/Gamiero.. A striker is definitely a top one though :)

There's a bucket load of class players being linked, but IMO we could end up with Carlton Cole and Shane Long :( Hope I'm wrong, very wrong.

Me too, I hope you're very very wrong!
Not sure what I'd do if we got Cole. Pards has more sense than that surely?

I'd be very very gutted if we didn't get Gervinho if I'm honest, I'm getting very excited at the prospect of him playing for us
