I want Wigan to lose every game until we are mathematically safe, unless they are playing anyone between us and them and then they can get a draw (very magnanimous of me:)).

I just have a feeling that Lambert will leave Carrow Rd with the points next weekend.I don't think that will affect either Saints or Norwich though.I can't see Wigan getting much out of Spurs.I think their luck has run out.

Watched Villa v Man Utd last night. Villa reminded me of an early season Saints. I thought they played really well but just couldn't defend at the important times. And a Van Persie hat trick! What a goal by the way.

If they continue to play like that, they should survive.

Loic Remy reportedly has an £8m release fee. Liverpool and Arsenal apparently interested.

QPR has said that no player will be allowed to leave if Redknapp wants to keep them...unless they get a good offer. In other words, they are all up for grabs. I suspect they want a lot off their wage bill...8 million doesn't seem too dear.

When it comes to release fees they don't have a say in the matter, and I bet a lot of their players have them. I reckon a lot of their big signings wouldn't have joined without one.

I hope for QPR's sake they have a clause reducing wages if relegated...Pompey is an example of what can happen if you don't have such a clause.

Well I'd take Remy if he'd take a wage cut. But that's unlikely.

It's funny how players can go from really good to crap. Hoillet and Samba were stars for Blackburn last year, Julio Cesar's done okay but isn't one of the best keepers in the world like he used to be; Bosingwa was a regular for Chelsea and Fabio was a squad player for Man Utd. They're going to struggle a little getting offers but I'm sure someone reasonable will take a chance on them and get them playing in a proper team!

First decisions this weekend with either Reading or QPR or potentially both being relegated. Looking increasingly like Wigan for the dreaded 3rd spot!

Here's a Reading fan who is taking a realistic view of things:

Not that he has taken to our Nigel very much:

But it's John Madejski his vitriol is mainly reserved for:

Massive, massive, massive weekend for Villa. If they lose, they'd be in deep trouble. I think they have to be safe before the last day, because if the door is still open for Wigan on the last day, I am convinced they'll beat Villa at the DW. And if Villa lose on Monday night, I'm struggling to see how they would be safe going into the last day.

In fact, I'd be half expecting them to go to the DW below Wigan if they lose on Monday (albeit maybe only on GD - but even that would still mean they'd have to beat Wigan).

I don't see that as a Reading fan taking a realistic view of things, I see that as the rantings of a deluded fan disappointed at coming last. Someone has to, of course.

Quite well written and sharply observed rantings though, in my opinion. :)

I guess you either love Nigel or the opposite. Some people can't handle full on positivity!

Probably owes to the circumstances. Right now, they're essentially relegated, and haven't been particularly good with Nigel in charge...the positivity probably seems a bit hollow. If they start winning again next year, he'll grow on them.
