I will have a go (sorry in advanced) My sire wouldn't be ashamed, even though I am misnamed, My dam was particle-larly good, and I have shown I am no dud. My owners know the game, even though her husband should be ashamed.
Nass, I had a good go at this last night and it's got me stumped. I thought Bosra Sham might be involved, but I couldn't identify either the sire or the dam ( tried Scintillate for the latter). Good riddle, Nass, but you need to give me another clue. All the best, Tam.
Ok On debut I was led a merry dance by some guy from the colony, I then won with a horse on my back, Then next time I lost to the rate at which work is performed, Finally I was beaten by a man with a giant beard.
My sire wouldn't be ashamed, even though I am misnamed, Holy Roman Emperor - So Roman Soldier is completely wrong as HRE was the name for the North European nation (now Germany) and not 'Rome' My dam was particle-larly good, and I have shown I am no dud. Ron- and you thought mine was hard! I would never have got the answer from the first clue/riddle. I suspect Nass was out to teach me a lesson!
Ron, I really am amazed that no-one got the Riddle-Me-Ree yesterday. We had the same riddle in a pub quiz years ago- and all bar one team got the answer. Easy clue....There are other far-things apart from coins.
