Team Kermit, I have no doubt we offered him a deal but I don't believe the terms were good enough for him and althought he would have loved to stay he was offered a better deal by Bournemouth

Could this possibly be the case that both are telling the truth as they know it, but with the agent earning a bigger fee for the transfer?

I do not believe that Yann would lie about this, there was and is a genuine affection between him and the valley faithful which will survive even him scoring against us. i think the new owners were a little out of their depth with the English transfer market and probably are telling the story as they saw it. The fact is the conduit in the middle is the agent and he hasnt told us what he told both sides.

In all honesty, I think it was six of one, half a dozen of the other. I'm sure the deal offered would have beena accepted by Yann had Bournemouth not come in and offered more cash. But I also understands Yann's frustration in delay for any deal that was placed on the table. He also talks about his personal concerns under the new management, which I'm sure also became a factor.

I wonder how Bournemouth fans are taking these interviews. He referes to Charlton as ''we'' and ''us'' and Bournemouth as ''them'' and ''they''.

I would imagine that Roland took some pretty knowledgable advice on the playing staff before committing himself to buying our club. Maybe his advisors watched us when Kermit was making his return from injury, when he played poorly for 4 or 5 games, was overweight and took too long to get his fitness back. They would also have seen Wiggins' value to the team, and so he was quick enough to tie him up on a 4-year deal.

FHB, as I understand it the Rat doesn't do the 'taking advice' thing very well..... he probably asked Richard Murray <ok>

Which begs the question of why Richard Murray is actually still on the board. If Roland reads CL he probably thinks Mr. Murray is incredibly popular with the fans, on the basis that he is himself a fan who loathed Simon Jordan the same way as the rest of us did. But surely a man who puts £14m into a loss-making club will also have noted that this loathing started us on the descent to where we are now?
