Having seen our fortunes change over the last few months, on current form and if it continues where you do think we can finish in the Championship this season. Can we hope for a playoff spot or would you prefer another season in the Championship?
i want promotion, i dont buy into the not ready for it yet opinion...life is too short and you should take what you can , when you can......still think its too far off tho, too many tough away games coming up..probably finish 9th or 10th i reckon
I certainly wouldn't turn down promotion, however, the best way to go up would be with another years experience, another few additions to the squad and finishing in the automatic promotion spots. I personally think that we are a bit too far away, but if we could go on an amazing run, it wouldn't be a disaster if we didn't go up through the play-offs. We have to believe that this squad is going to be good in the long-run, and get better in the long-run, not just smash and grab another promotion.
We are on a great run at the moment, for us to get into the play-offs this run would almost need to be done all over again....... 70 to 75 points is usually the norm to get into the play-offs . 10 wins from 16 matches?
That's an ideal situation, but many clubs have tried to go for it in their second season and dramatically failed. Look at Middlesborough. If we can build further in the Summer and get some more quality players in then, which Pearson is good at, next season would be a perfect time to go up. I think we'll fall short of the top 6 this season anyway; people say 70 to 75 points is what is required for the play-offs. Well in that case, we need 10 wins
It'll be clearer after the next 3 games. If we want to reach the playoffs we have to beat the likes of Preston and also be scraping wins against Ipswich and Derby. Constant draws are not enough.
i would love promotion, but, if it was a springboard for next year..... well lets just say i would welcome it then
yeah i'd love us to go backup straight away, but the Championship has a great set of teams all going for the 3 spots to get into the Premier League, I do think we may be battling for the last playoff spot but i'm not sure. However I will say for the more immediate future, please City win 5-1 against Preston next week so I can see a high scoring game where we win
I think 7th. I'm just enjoying the improved football and the new outlook, next season we could finally be in with a shout of winning this division.
I don't have a clue. One thing I like about the Championship is that anyone can string a run together and push for the play-off's. I tend to think we have left it too late and we will end up a point or two outside. I don't mind not going up as long as Leeds don't either. I don't hate Leeds, just couldn't put up with the smug gits if they went up.
There is no doubt we have the ability and potential to get into the play offs but we have some tough games and i doubt we will keep all this form going on. However i think we have left a little to much to do and we will be agonizingly close and we will be ruining the missed chances we have had in the first half of the season against some really poor teams. If we do get in the play offs its then a bit of a lottery and how we actually do, but we can always dream!
