Are we going to start singing this next season then? A thread on Foxes Talk suggests that some people don't even know it's our song. People who slag it off should be ashamed. The song is great, just learn the bloody words and sing it! We need to have a bit of unity in the stands like we did 2 years ago, it was sadly lacking this season. Singing our anthem loud and proud is a signal that we are all behind our team as one. And I'm sorry, but comparing it to 'marching on together' is utter crap, every rendition of that is as **** as ours. Like When you're smiling, you hear the first line, the last line, but everything in the middle is mumbled and inaudible. Once again fans getting credit where it's not due. You'll never walk alone is done properly, we should be aspiring to that level. In summary, sing songs.
We should come out to when your smiling instead of the post horn gallop. Get the whole crowd signing it and it will set up a great atmosphere just before kick off
I wouldn't go that far, The Post Horn Gallop is tradition and should never be replaced, makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. They should play it pre-match though. And they should play the Louis Armstrong version at full time instead of bleeding Black Eyed Peas. Cringe.
Definitely keep Post Horn Gallop to run out to but "When You're Smiling" is great and could & should become just as much a Leicester City tradition as "You'll Never Walk Alone" is to Liverpool. The Louis Armstrong version is what I'd play at full time as well. Like Emilio says "Learn the words & sing it!"
WYS is a top song and sung since the lates 60's I believe. It was always sung when I started out in the main stand enclosure in 1981 as a little 11 year old. It is our anthem and is sung well at away games but the latest tendancy is to hurry through the last section far too fast. It should be far slower: the whole (hand wave ) world (hand wave) smiles (hand wave) with (hand wave) yoouuuuuuuuuuu (long hand wave) Followed by The Leicester clap clap clap clap clap The Leicester
